I wonder if anyone else has ever given them a legit interview, Kudos to GB for doing this!

Pretty dull stuff, does not interest me at all.  Only highlight was seeing what Mark was up to.

If they did then mad props. That game probably has the best translation ever.

And....someone really needed to work on the Achievements for Tales of Vesperia.
The game itself had a fine translation but the achievements were very vague....

That actually got pretty interesting at about the halfway point when they started going into specifics. May finally pick up that copy of Baten Kaitos Origins.

Dude, this interview was a great idea. I've been hounding a friend of mine to look into this part of the industry. He speaks and writes fluent japanese and teaches english to japanese people. He's very articulate and recently helped edit the latest draft of a fantasy novel I'm working on. He had some really insightful comments concerning what I had written. I didn't know a company like this existed. I'm going to tell him to hit them up for a job. I think he's perfect for this kind of thing. He loves japanese games and their entire culture and would be able to translate the content to be both effective in the west and mindful of its origin and intent. Thanks for the heads up guys.

They are currently working on a square enix game?  Perhaps it's the DS or PSP Kingdom Hearts.  If that's the case then tell them to GET CRACKIN!  The release date would totally depend on how fast they work.  I hear 18 hour work days are great :).

great video. This type of feature should happen more often. It is cool seeing Mark on there and the signature from Milky. 

I'd prefer if they stayed as close to the original language as possible. I understand if they have to change something that doesn't make any sense at all, but I don't like things like altering someone's personality or changing every reference to Japanese culture. So what if they eat rice balls instead of American food? Part of the charm is that the game feels Japanese.

They really did do a fantastic job with Baten Kaitos Origins. The original Baten Kaitos had some terrible dialogue and voice acting, but BKO was one of the best localized JRPGs I've ever played.

Wow, both Mark and John worked for EGM.  I'd been wondering what those guys were up to.  Seems like 1UP is having problems these days.

Wow, I was surprised when they said Baten Kaitos Origins. I've never heard of them before, but I'm already a fan. Let's hope for a new BK and hope they localize it.
