Guild Wars 2 Debut Trailer

Not really a fan of the art in Guild Wars. Can´t put my finger on it but it lacks soul. 
And if the game carries on the system where you pretty much make your own spells and skills as you see fit I´m not interested. I might be stuck in the past but I want distinct classes with predetermined skillsets and spells. Its part of the personality of an MMO.    

If I somehow manage to acquire a gaming PC, I'll definitely pick this up. I regret getting rid of the first Guild Wars. It didn't run all that bad on my laptop.

Cool, never really played Guild Wars that much, but I'll have to try this one out for sure.

Ahhh Jennifer Hale, I wonder what she thinks of all the stuff she has read over the years.  When she is in it, you know its a good game.

I am reminded that I never liked the art style of Guild Wars, which is more than likely why I only played the first one for a few weeks and will never play this one.

i can't watch the video yet, since I've almost reached this month's bandwidth limit... but I can say that, as a retired Guild Wars player (over 2000hours), I'm not particularly excited for this game. BUT I REALLY WANT TO WATCH THIS TRAILER, to see if they're showing anything new. If someone could reply me with a play-by-play, would be really appreciated.

This truly is the age of MMOs that are not really MMOs.

I cannot wait, I put 1000+ hours into the first game, and there hasnt been anything about Guild Wars 2 in ages.

 It's well deserved though, Ive been waiting for this for a long time.

I hope that they get the Roleplaying aspect of the game right this time. I only played the first one because the PvP was top-notch.

First half i was like - ok I'll run with this.
Then before i knew it, its three minutes in and the GW theme kicks in and I have this big sh**eating grin on my face and tingles!
Just like in '04 when I had seen the first GW1 trailer.

Damn good trailer but I'm done with the typical MMO. If combat and progression are done differently then I'll be interested.

I've always loved Guild Wars. This will be great.

Maybe this can beat wow...lol no it won't :) Looks very epic though i will definitely give it a shot when it comes out.

What do you mean getting rid of it? You mean the physical copy?
You can just download the client off the site and log into your account if you feel like going back to it. "

AWESOME! I've read whatever I could about GW2 (especially a very good issue of PC Gamer) but they have been so closed lipped for so long. Wow, what a way to come back! I can't wait...

Woah! I remember there being some pretty decent lore for the original, but in the expansion packs they never really bothered to build off of it. The stand alone game was ok, but like someone said, you were either in a wasteland, desert or barren tundra. This looks like the environments will be great. Im also excited to see more races, especially that lion one which originally was evil in the first Guild Wars. At first I thought this would be a let down of a trailer, but it has made me interested.

Trailer looks great. Being someone who played Guildwars from the'04 Beta Events all the way to '08, my biggest concern is what's been fleshed out in the sequel. GW is/was an amazing game, but at some point it really did become a snake eating its own tail. For every improvement they made that helped casual players to enjoy the game, they added 10 features that catered to title-whores, collectors and general "elitests". And since there were so many skills within each profession that were broken and/or unbalanced, players were constantly alienated for their skill/profession choices. I'm not saying those things are exclusive to Guildwars. I'm just saying that Arenanet neglected their principles on several occasions and missed opportunities to swiftly fix people "gaming the system". Some of their decisions definitely led that game down a dark path. (Two words: Ursan Blessing) So yeah, Guildwars 2. Maybe?

I hope it's not all instances.

This story is far more epic than any of the GW1 campaigns, in my opinion.

This is the first time guild wars has really impressed me.... Great Job Arenanet looking forward to it

To all asking about instances - apparently they are going for a WOW style thing this time, where only a few places are instanced.

I can't wait to play as a norn or the charr. 
I liked that it seems in this trailer that there are some pretty environments in this game, which is great because I hated every part of the first GW campaigns where the environs where shabby or boring.

Damn, the concept art looks awesome as always. The graphics weren't improved much though.
I quit Guild Wars a year ago and I think Guild Wars 2 won't change my mind.
Just tired of MMOs :( 
In addition, the only part I liked from Guild Wars was the PvP, that's all.

Although I was a great PvP player, people seemed to underestimate my in-game abilities only because of my nontraditional skill choices and the fact that I didn't know each and everyone of the 30,000+ 
abbreviations for builds/skills etc.
This all happened despite my expectations from the game to not be overpopulated with
hardcore  " title-whores, collectors and general "elitests" ".

Damn. All the next gen MMOs are coming out. But seeing how I like FFXI better than any other MMO out currently, FFXIV is most likely going to be the game for me.

graphics look amazing but i doubt itll manage to look that good AND run well at the same time, especially since its an MMO. also how will this apply to people who already have characters in the 1st guild wars? (not that i ever played it)
