Guild Wars 2 Debut Trailer

Damn...this looks waaaay epic!

Now is this going to be an actual MMO like WoW but different or what I call the Fable style of MMO. What I mean by that is when you go into cities you see people and you can talk and trade with them but when your out in the world you're on your own unless you find someone in the city to join you. That was the reason I didn't really liked Guild Wars 1 I always felt like I was alone.

The best part of Guild Wars was that it was so accessible. Hopefully Anet doesn't get too fixated on combating WoW. I have faith in Anet not listening to the complainers wanting a free WoW, but rather building on the great GW lore.

Oh Guild Wars, how much I loved your ideas and art style, whilst hating your execution. From what I've read it sounds as though ArenaNet have learned some valuable lessons and are ready to turn Guild Wars into the MMO it always deserved to be.

Instances were one thing I really liked in GW.  Being able to play without all those 12 year old racists and elitest noobs everywhere.  I'm actually disappointing to see that they're gone.
 
I'm not sure why people are complaining about the environments from the first game though, they were fantastic, leagues above any other MMO and hugely vaired.

There still will be instances but it's not going to be all instanced like the first game.
I hope you will be able to jump and I want mounts. Better PvE...

Yes you can. They have removed all of the "invisible wall" problems and fitted it with the ability to freely jump without having to type out the e-mote (which is only an animation and serves no other purpose). "

I'm moderately hyped. 
 
Now, if they add jumping and swimming. WoW has a serious competitor! =P

this is truly the age of fantasy-MMOs.  yes i know its an existing franchise, but still ehh, its already a dying horse.  cool trailers though. Totally agree with ever who said they ripped the symbol from dragon age, thats what i thought it was at first.

Wait a minute...Guild Wars 2 has munchkins who control giant robots?  As much as I swore off fantasy MMOs, I might take a closer look at this, especially since it's free-to-play.

Personally, I doubt any game aside from The Old Republic has a chance to dent World of Warcraft's success, however this looks to be more interesting than the first one. Call me strange, but the reason I couldn't play it was due to the lack of a jump button. Now that I can bounce around like a loony everywhere, this might be worth checking out. It seems sound, at least conceptually. 
 
As for those saying World of Warcraft ripped off of previous MMO games; yes, the developers of World of Warcraft came from those games and used that to create their new MMO. However, that shouldn't diminish the fact that Blizzard did right what the others did wrong, and forged major new innovations in the genre that have set the bar incredibly high. "Copy" or not, you have to admit that they pulled off something amazing. Not to diminish the innovations that Guild Wars implemented as well, and that Guild Wars 2 will hopefully build upon.

I loved GW. Played it for 2 years. Alas, it got boring, our guild fell apart, and everyone was generally soured by the negative experience. I simply cannot wait for this sequel.

MMO's always seem to have the most beautiful trailers.

The design team needs a raise for this. 
 
I was doubting the trailer at first when it was only being done in stills. The art, while good, does not make a very compelling release trailer. However, once they started showing in-game footage... oh man. The graphical increase does not look very severe, and I'm convinced that it'll be pretty smooth to run. The one shot of what looked like an aqueduct (and also the shot of the giant vines people were walking across) looked like the foreground was seamlessly transitioning into a flat (yet somehow dynamic) image. 
 
They used their flat backgrounds cleverly before, and I can tell that their designs have only gotten better. Those areas looked damned compelling.

really stoked on this one. the thing i love most about GW is its stability. they have the fastest load times, and for the most part their servers are very stable as far as the game goes.

Just last week I was wondering when the fuck they'd release something about this game.
I liked GW, especially for a monthly-payment-free MMORPG.

With all the fucking ridiculously ugly MMO's out there, it's nice that GW keeps their artistic style and quality intact.

I'm not a big fan of MMO's, but I played a lot of Guild Wars and enjoyed it.  I might actually consider picking up GW2, especially if they keep it free to play online.  I like the art design!

They also strongly implied the ability to swim, and perhaps even underwater combat.  (similar to the flying combat from Aion) "

That looks really really good it's just a shame they release the trailer while blizcon is on this will just get washed over by WOW news.

this looks unbelievable!!

SO excited for this.  I loved the original until everybody made too much of a science out of character creation.  if it keeps looking good, im in there day 1.
