This game looks like it might be on to something. I don't really see many people buying this as a retail release though...

I really hope this game is successful, so they can take all this Gymkhana shit out of my favorite racing series besides Forza, and keep it in the spin-offs.

I'm holding out for DiRT Rally.

While I am really excited for this, I kind of agree. :T Dirt 1 was great because the other disciplines were like accents to the point-to-point stuff. It'd be nice for the series to stay that way.

Yeah the side events were still fun in Dirt because they were still ultimately a race against time or opponents. If Dirt 4 was a purely racing game I would definately be a happy camper. The gymkhana stuff didn't bother me as an actual event, they were fine, I just thought there was waaaay too much of it, and it also is the one thing preventing me from getting all gold on every event.

I've enjoyed the rally races in Dirt 1, 2 and 3....so this one doesn't look interesting.

Only a fool would put money on the fundamental laws of physics in a Dirt game.

So what is this offering that Dirt 3 didn't already? I honestly can't tell.

While I'll be a sucker and buy it anyway since it has "Dirt" in the name... This looks identical to Dirt 3.

I like the idea of Codemasters making an arcadey racer - they're clearly awesome at making them. But I just don't know about this Gymkana thing, or if the racing model is "Burnout-y" enough to be a great arcade racer. A lot of non-Mario Kart, non-Burnout, and non-Trackmania racers are still pretty "heavy" feeling, like Need for Speed or Split/Second or Ridge Racer Unbounded - they're still beholden to too many of the same physics that make playing Sims (like Forza) suck. I guess I gotta see more about this before making a purchasing decision...

I'm gonna go pound some dub step while cranking up some hardcore Monster in the back of my super dubtrancehardstep Mitsubishi Lancer.

Looks like nothing exciting, at this point all I could think of when "man I miss when this was a colin mcrae game". Oh well back to Richard Burns Rally.

This can only mean that they keep gymkhana well and truly away from the next proper DIRT release.

This my friends is a good thing.

I wonder if they've thought of resurrecting Colin McRae as a Zombie driver and remaking Carmeggedon? Tasteless perhaps, but that was never a problem for that game.

It's not "cool" its necessary. I can't begin to express how awful/boring this game is. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
