Do I have to play Link To The Past to understand the story??????

Yeah, I get what they're going for with the art style... but the character models just look like junk.
I am definitely liking the way the environments look, though.

Maybe I'm weird about this but for me a big part of Zelda 3 was the delay-like reverb effect they used everywhere. It gave the game such a unique sound. I hope there's lots of liberally applied echoes to this one, too ;)

I thought that was a given. In Japan 3DS already surpassed the Wii lifetime sales.

Man, I love the art in this game. It's basically the style of the official art for the first few Zelda games, which I've always loved. Very classic fantasy.

After just playing the Ys games on Steam this 3D isometric view looks plain bad. I mean really bad. So ugly I could not finish watching the trailer.

I've only played the first and some of Link to the Past, but I hope the fans are happy with this.

I think its looks great for polygonal remakes of old sprites. I just have this weird feeling about the flat graphics.

Graphically this doesn't look like much but I personally think Lorule is fantastically quirky.

The 2D hand-drawn style art in this game looks fantastic, but those 3D models are... uninspiring. Like if someone tried to render Disney's Snow White on the N64, and it somehow came out blander than the actual N64 Zelda games.

The Zelda scores get me every time. Have you heard the 25th Anniversary orchestration they did for Skyward Sword? It is goosebump-inducing.

Super Mario Galaxy would have been great even without the classic Mario stuff...and Pushmo's pretty awesome. They actually do a fair number of things that are sprinkled with nostalgia but really are just completely original ideas wrapped in a familiar package. This Zelda game looks like it's going to be trying a ton of new things structurally and just so happens to be a direct sequel to the SNES game for some reason.

What are people complaining about? The style they choose looks almost like how Link is drawn in the original NES game manual. Granted it's not his more thinner ALttP design (wich would be more fitting since this is a sequal of some kind) but to have a bit chunkier character on screen makes it easier to see him I guess. I really don't see what's so wrong with this design or do people just want pixels instead? The game will problably be great so who cares.

@d_w: I know exactly how you feel. This trailer made me more nostalgic than anything. I'm hopeful this will be as good.

Looking forward to the new vision and gameplay mechanics! Interested to see how they take full advantage of the 2D/3D motif.
