Ken Levine Explains How "Tears" Will Work In Bioshock Infinite

Ken Levine is a creative genius. Wow. Cannot wait for this.

I just want to see that whole damn demo.

Game designers should stop pretending they understand anything about science. The Bioshock and Assassin's Creed games are just embarrassing in their attempts to sound "scientific".

Tears for Fares made me lol.

This has to be the most ambitious game of 2011 hands down.

Loving the UI of the video, guys. Very sleek!

Looked pretty cool. This and Prey 2, so far look like the most exciting games to play that year.

I heard about the Jedi "thing" but I didn't expect it to come when she was trying to heal the horse. My jaw just dropped. If they keep this up, this game will be amazing.

This game looks amazing. I can't wait.

There's some pretty interesting concepts the have going into Bioshock Infinite. Wonder what would have happened had he chosen the door, would that have been their escape route?

I would imagine that many minds were blown when Elizabeth opened that tear to the movie theater.

I just smiled continuously for about 3 minutes and 11 seconds. The other 10 seconds was a jaw on the floor from the end.

I would pay full price to hear a seminar by Ken Levine about literally anything.

I play video games to experience awesomeness such as this.

Dammit! I still don't know which Tears for Fears song gets used. Guess I'll just have to buy the game to find out.

I wonder if they will make a Bioshock game set in the 1600s and explore the new science of Galileo and Newton...

"Spooky action at a distance" as a gameplay mechanic?  Awesome!

@The_Nubster: it's odd how different people seem to view that, I personally think that the story of the original Bioshock was far superior, while the combat was a bit of a lacklustre. The second one offered far more combat, yet the story wasn't as good. To me, a game with an interesting story, has a much bigger draw than fun gameplay.

Damn you Ken Levine , show us the full demo already.

I think I might stop watching the coverage of it though so I can go in fresh like I did with Portal 2.

I was just thinking, from what I saw there bringing objects through tears seems a lot less violent then I was expecting. The way the cover appears in the video there it seemed to me like it was effortless for Elizabeth to bring it into their reality.

Which raises the question, if its that easy why not just bring in everything in, not just one object? If the objects were to flash in and violently displace other objects in their path it would convey (at least to me) that Elizabeth is not fully in control of the transition and would help explain why you can only bring in one object at a time. At the very least the new object has to displace the air that stands where its coming in. What with the whole "2 objects cannot occupy the same point in four dimensional space time" law. You know in physics.

Or am I just over thinking this.

It was meant to be the ultimate FPS-RPG and it succeeded in doing neither particularly well.

I know it was you Ken..... I know it was you. But I'll give you once more chance, and you better not fuck up.

Why are they showing so much of this game?! Don't they know it's making the wait unbearable? Looks excellent. I am so excited.
