After paying the demo I can safely say this game is gonna be fucking deadly.

Oh snap. I totally forgot that Rare's premiere composer works for Big Huge now. It's a pity that Reckoning itself seems rather... uninspiring.

I hope this game is good, because for the number of hype videos they have made the company is going to get skewered if it isn't.

Demo seems pretty cool but hard to get into for me. The combat seems a lot more engaging than most other RPGs but in the demo you're never really challenged in any way that makes it seem necessary to really USE the options at your disposal. Music is a bit TOO on the nose for me. Sounds John Williams-ey at times.

There are a lot of talented people working on this with a lot of experience behind them but from what I've seen so far I agree with @ArbitraryWater. I really hope you're right and it turns out to be completely awesome.

Yep. You are totally entitled to think that the game will come together and won't be just a generic mess in the vein of Divinity II. Personally, nothing about that demo had me wanting more. Maybe I will eat my words, but that would require me to spend $60 on the game first, something that the demo has most definitely convinced me not to do.

So basically, I'll get this game for $5 in 3 years during a steam sale.

Rare + audio = David Wise, not Kirkhope.

He's done some nice stuff too, but he didn't do DKC2.

It's impressive seeing these huge orchestras performing serious music, for a videogame. I hope it turns out well. The demo left me with mixed feelings but I saw that spark of potential in it.

I forgive you, but only because you apologized.

Based on the demo I'm quite interested in this game.

I'm significantly less interested in this game after playing the demo... But if they make a soundtrack CD, I'll be the first one in line to buy it. Kirkhope's soundtracks are some of my favorite composed music ever and this stuff sounds pretty great.

He could be talking about what you're talking about or he could be talking about the longstanding "Reckoning has awesome doors" statement. They pride them selves on having really awesome doors, and that one day a designer came in with a badass looking door and after it became some sort of contest where they made cool doors every week.

C'MON, CRANKY! TAKE IT TO THE FRIDGE! WALNUTS, PEANUTS, PINEAPPLE SMELLS... GRAPES, MELONS, ORANGES, AND COCONUT SHELLS. AWW YEAH!

John Williams is anything but original. He's one of the most eclectic 20/21st century film composers. He's channeling (some would say "steals") from Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Mahler, Wagner, Dvorak ... but that's what film composers have to do in many ways.

But video game composers - and sound designers - have so much more to accomplish. It's way more challenging to do sound for video games. Their work is still underrated, IMHO.

I wish this video was longer. Could listen to this guy talkin' about music for a good while, he's just so down to earth and likeable.

The Soundtrack is in good hands Banjo Kazooie and Perfect Dark had great soundtracks.
