You are aware 50%+ of this game is 2D, with levels from the Genesis games, right?

Believe it or not, I used to love boss battles in Sonic games (well, in most 8 or 16-bits sidescrolling games actually)

Then Sonic went 3D. But instead of joining the "Sonic sucks/I hate Sonic!11!1lolz"-bandwagon I still continued liking the games (errr.. not Sonic 2006 though...). But I found myself really hating all the boss battles in the modern games. Poorly presented or too cheap. Super easy or badly done. (seriously though ALL final boss fights in all 3D Sonic games have been awful, Perfect Chaos, Final Biolizard, and the ones from the multiconsole Sonic games I never cared about learning their names..)

Hope Sonic team really polishes this aspect of the game this time around. Though the hint at a final monster at the end of the trailer does worry me...

I liked sonic when it was a 2d platformer and not dumb shit for furries and man children.

A shame that this will be the SECOND best 20th anniversary game out this year.

Yup, I am riding that hype train hard... again Cho...choooo! :\ Seriously, I know all the past games suck for the most part, sonic rushes were alright, Sonic colors were pretty alright, but for the most part, they have sucked... and I am still excited? Why? I know I am just leading myself down a road of self-denial until the game is out and reviews start coming in... :(

The bosses look quite neat actually. I'm still hopefully this could be the Sonic game which changes the god-awful reputation they have made for themselves.

Watching this after the latest Dark Souls trailer makes the Sonic bosses seem...a little too cute? Actually every game seems kind of cute after 20 hrs of Dark Souls...

There's no trailer that could come out that could possibly make me more excited for this game, just less excited. Which is what Sega is good at :/. Still though, cannot wait for this game.

I don't even know what this is supposed to be anymore. I like the idea of sonic CD metal sonic. I hope they put in the metal sonic from S2 or Mecha Sonic from S3. Also remember when they said it was going to be two sonics?

Also, two Sonics and two Tails's. But damn, if they would've shown two Robotniks, I'd preorder that shit today. That is the one big hope I have for that game.

The first thing I think of when I think of good Sonic games is Silver the Hedgehog.

Who else feels like this game is conning them? I mean really! Remember the idea of a nos con? It's all Sonic has anymore! It's going to be just like Unleashed, only possibly with no Werehog.

Considering I did everything you could do in that game, you'd mighta figured that I liked it at one point, it's just impossible for me to go back and enjoy it now. Too much crap to put up with. Really, the reason I even did enjoy myself the first time was a result of really well managed expectations.

Actually, now I think I see where you got confused. I wasn't saying that Heroes was almost as bad as Sonic 2006 (I've never played that one) I was saying that S-rank A-ranking everything in that game was almost as silly a thing to do as was playing Sonic 2006 for a hundred hours.

@RockmanBionics: Heroes wasn't all that bad. In fact it's one of my favorites in the franchise to be honest. . . . and there are no S ranks in Sonic Heroes, it was up to A at that point in time.

The only ones I'll admit to recognizing are Robotnik and Metal Sonic.

@ViciousAnchovy: The demo isn't all that great, but then again it was put out like right after E3 I believe. So there might of been some fine tuning along the way.

I got an S rank on every level in Sonic Heroes, that must be almost as bad. I can not go back to that game anymore without hating it, but the part in another trailer where they flashed a version of the opening stage of Heroes actually made me a bit nostalgic for it.

Y'know in some respects I like Sonic as a character, but the thing they're doing where they just keep adding more and more "badass" angry looking rivals is so incredibly lame that I can't not hate it.

I'd buy that for a dollar.
