I think Valve wanted to leave people confused or still wanting to know due to the ambiguous nature of the video (dialogue, drug-like induced state) probably because the mysterious aspects of the pyro is more interesting than the reveal to them. If anybody wants an answer, they can make their own conclusion.

P.S. People have to stop reading into the song... The Lovin' Spoonful didn't know about Pyro in 1965.

I think that was pretty good, a nice twist on the character without validating people's thought's on the gender.

I don't know why people are using the song to try and confirm it's a woman. At the beginning heavy says "I fear no man, but that thing, it scares me." and scout says "He's not here is he?" So, basically it could be a man, woman, or not human. We still don't know.

Scout says "He's not here, is she?", go to youtube, enable the transcript or captions.

That was absolutely terrifying. No other Meet videos have showed such....malice. The head tilt at the end as he torches the sniper is an amazing touch.
