It's not. There is an extended cut of the trailer with a good amount of gameplay. It's classic tactical espionage action at its finest. Even at the end of this trailer you can see a few seconds of gameplay of him sneaking around till caught.

The Ground Zeros are Outer Heaven and then Zanzibar Land, as this is a prequel to MGS5, which will be a remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2. (imo)

Yep, this is Metal Gear.

Man, Kojima does what he does and doesn't compromise. He is one of the few that has etched out his own creative stamp in the game industry, that I can respect.

Christ. I hope Kojima gets to produce the movie so he can get it out of his system and stop abusing videogames. I like the characters and the ridiculous mashed up with the overly-serious, those qualities give his games the kind of hilarity you can't achieve on purpose. So for that reason, I'm not a complete detractor of the MGS series. Really though, all the MGS games have been the epitome of misuse of the medium.

I really hope they release this on PC, I'm mean it's being demoed there ON a PC for crying out loud, anyway.

It amuses me greatly that people take issue with the absurdity of "Ground Zeroes" but have no problem with the "Metal Gear Solid" part...

Nobody does it better then Kojima.

Hmm, but I kinda liked the linearity of the MGS games. I dunno about an open world one. Open world games often suffer from poor storytelling and story pacing issues.

@RockmanBionics: Ahahaha I don't remember the Quick Look much at all. By content I mean there's a ton of side missions to earn you optional stuff (I think #56 is Stealth Camo), tons of unique soldiers to collect (you can even get Hideo in your squad), send those soldiers on AC:Brotherhood style missions, and you can level up each and every weapon and item, oh and build your own Metal Gear...because you know, you're Big Boss.

That being said you can ignore all of that and just get through the story mode, which besides some boss fights that might take you a few tries is not very hard or long.

Damn. Just...damn.

This quite honestly makes what the guys on Revengence put out look like a puddle of puke. This is subtle and understated while still having tension, Revengence just throws everything at you and flails it's arms around screaming, "Hey, look at me!" while still hitting you with the kitchen sink. I was skeptical about hearing things about it, but now that I've seen it I want it. Now. The other one they're coming out with might as well be a drink coaster at this point.

@Sweep: And a 30, 40, 50, or 60 minute quick look is "quick"? It's still a trailer. There is no unwritten rule that states that a trailer must be 2 minutes or under and just show flashes of the best bits. I'd personally rather see one single moment that sets absolutely everything up instead of a montage of Micheal Bay proportions. The former is brilliant, the latter is riddled with ADD tendencies for people with ADD.

That was a really dull trailer to come out of Kojima's camp. Also, from what I had heard about Fox Engine, I had expected more than shiny surfaces in rain (which quite frankly didn't look that good). Meh, here's to hoping it turns out interesting.

thats like half an episode of a sitcom. should be called a clip, or short film or something. 11 minutes is NOT a trailer!

nitpicking aside, eh, 11 minutes and nothing really happened other than some dudes getting in a helicopter and snake showing up at the very end. looks like kojimas style of pacing and editing are back! YAY!

seems like you need a peacewalker refresher.... but yeah it's usually a good idea story wise to have played (or even seen/read the story) at least some of the previous games before you tackle a new metal gear game.... this one i say (in this order) MGS3 (ps2,ps3,vita,or 360), MGS portable ops (psp), and MGS Peace Walker(psp,ps3,vita,or 360)
