Orson Scott Card on Shadow Complex

I didn't know Shadow Complex was based on a book.

This seems like it could be one of the better XBLA  titles released this year

what i really wanted him to say was: "This is much better than that Advent Rising shit."

Great interview and I really should read some of his books, which I have never done.  I got a 1600 point card earlier this week so I would have enough points for this game.

Orson Scott Card is amazing, one of the best authors out there. Can't wait until next week.

I love his work. I might stop being cheap and pick up a 360 for it. It sounds stupid but it is just the tipping point because there are other games i want to play as well. Here is to hoping we will get a "Ender's Game" game. Maybe even a remake or sequel to Advent Rising.

I don't really like the books Orson Scott Card writes, but Shadow Complex looks good enough that I don't care.

I'm not a Card fan, and I never quite understood why the god-like genius kids and bouncing around in zero-G was so fascinating for everyone--  it was a long walk to that ending.   Not sure why people want this to be a game or a movie...  maybe the actual ending sequence?  That I could see working, at least.
 
This game looks interesting, but if it gets as stridently political and monotonic as the book does, I'm not sure I could stomach it.

Well, Ender's Game is one of my favorite science fiction novels of all time. As for Shadow Complex, hopefully it's as good as it looks.

Excitement level has now peaked.  I'll have plenty of time to digest this game next week :)

Empire is a crappy novel, but at least there is an amazing game being born out of it.

He seems like such a nice and charming guy in that interview, it's just really strange that he's become known as such a notorious bigot. Oh well, he writes great novels and nobody's perfect... but still. Either way, Shadow Complex looks fantastic, it's an awesome downloadable title for you 360 owners. Enjoy it!

It seems sad that some people might skip this game simply because of this man's personal views on homosexuals.  I was listening to a gaming podcast that made a good point about the whole issue by saying that who knows what awful things game developers that you've supported over the years have done.  I'm sure you've bought games from racists and people who beat their wives, too.  They were just not stupid enough to make their personal opinion, or awful deeds, into public knowledge.
 
And Card didn't really have anything to do with the development of the game.  The developers just set the game in his fictional world.

Loved Ender's Game, loved Advent Rising, love Orson Scott Card.

I loved Ender's Game, but pretty much everything else he's written as a follow up was a disappointment. Not on the scale of Robert Jordan style disappointment, but a disappointment none-the-less.

screw that homophobic bastard. Science fiction is supposed to help us address the scientific or social problems of the future today. This guy wants to propagate the social ills of discrimination into the future.  Reprehensible.
 
Also, hes a huge homophobe, but he wrote a book with multiple scenes containing nude six year old boys. Yeah. I think i know what the root of his prejudice is.

I don't at all understand what a man's personal views have to do with his proffesional work, especially with someone where its not at all present in the work. Do you hate Mel Gibson's Apocolypto for equally asinine reasons?

This looks really good. Epic Games always manages to make games fun.
