PAX Prime 2014: The Giant Bomb Panel

Forgive me for stepping out of line, but I didn't enjoy this panel as much as the past ones. The Firewatch and GameBomb.ru bits felt very forced (though I did snicker at the notion of Iron Curtain Galaxy and a couple of other puns). The ending was pretty hysterical though.

(Also, this is no way Drew's fault, but the audio on this recording is terrible - due to the source, I presume.)

Seems way bigger than the room the PAX East one was in.

Wish I was there...but also kind of glad I missed it since I could have wound up with free Infinity stuff if I hadn't.

I had to pinch myself during the GameBomb.ru bit as i couldn't believe it was happening.

Was Will Smith the one couldn't keep his mustache on? Also who was "Patrucia Klepek"? I feel like i should know her.

That buzz is murdering me, but I love it!

Anyone know who the GameBomb version of Patrick and Alex were? I recognize all of them except those two.

Looks like there were some audio issues with the footage from this thing- glad to see the video team was able to power through it. Great panel. Wish I was there!

John Drake's Russian accent is the worst accent of any sort I've ever heard in my life. It is even worse than Jeff's foreign accent that always turns Spanish.

I can't believe they got like 20 minutes out of that Firewatch bit.

The crowd is actually going "Scooops!". It's happened on a couple of panels and people always mistake it for booing.

Ah come on man! The duders are saying "Scoops"....cause that's what he does brother. He's our newsman man and breaks the big news scoops. You dig? Educate yourself man. Scoops is one of the biggest names in our biz. Have yourself a goodnight dude.

There's so much good here... I don't know where to start.

@patbaer: I was wondering that because a few audience shots didn't seem like many seats. East felt absolutely huge and it almost seemed like GB got shorted. Glad to know someone knows about the madness those guys cause attract.

I can only assume so but around that same time Phil Fish's Twitter account and website were hacked whereby his banking details, passwords, and other information was publicly exposed. Then there was the matter with Zoe Quinn and her ex-boyfriend as well as a fake bomb threat specifically targeting the president of SOE.

Jeff is right, this has been a problem for a very long time and it's actually probably better for women now than it's ever been for jobs due to rights and people fighting for them but it's also a time where arseholes can be much more vocal. If you wanted to tell someone in the game industry "Hey, you fucking suck" (and that's being mild), it wasn't really possible.

I believe GB was in the largest room Prime had (outside of the main stage). It was SUPER wide (like most Prime rooms) where the largest room at East was super deep. I don't think the video captures just how wide the room was.
