whats up with the audio sync issues?

I went to the gum wall last time I was in Seattle for work. I'm not exactly a squeamish person, but after I thought about it too long I got myself really nauseated by that thing.

Also it smelled like gum in a way I cannot really describe, but that made the skeeved-out factor worse.

These are cool videos Abby. Always wanted to go to Seattle so I am very jealous.

No cronuts at the doughnut shop? Aaby can be excused but Jan and Ben were on the Bombcast talking about them just last week.

Ah, sad I missed the call for recommendations because I have SO MANY. I work in downtown Seattle and go out to lunch most days. There’s a ton of great food in the area.

Top Pot is good, but probably low-ish on many Seattleite lists. Lately been really into donuts from Tempesta a few blocks away from that main Top Pot. Some of the best lemon glazed.

In the market Rachel’s Ginger Beer for a really good Moscow/Kentucky mule, Ellenos Greek yogurt for dessert when you want to pretend like you’re being “healthy”, Pasta Casalinga for amazing pasta at a reasonable price.

For coffee, Cherry St is a good local chain, The Moore coffee shop, and Storyville are also decent.

For museums, would recommend the museum of history and industry (aka mohai) as a really great but often overlooked museum, especially if you’re interested in Seattle history. Little far from downtown, but it’s in a nice park on Lake Union, and can eat lunch and watch seaplanes.

Also it’s super weird to see giant bomb wandering around my daily stomping grounds :)

Edit: Also forgot about The Living Computer museum, which is not downtown, but has a ton of playable vintage computers/games, and currently has a 1980's themed free play arcade with original cabinets, "basement" with a playable atari and game collection, and school classroom. It's super awesome.

The gum wall was removed of all gum/cleaned in 2015 for the first time in 20 years. It has since had an even bigger growth, as a clean slate was available. Hence lots of fresh gum... ain't what she used to be! At least no lips are required - hear that Blarney Stone?

The night time Seattle Underground Tour is absolutely worth checking out. It explores the more "adult" side of the underground, including brothels and the more seedy side of life at the time. 21+, and they give you a cocktail.

There also used to be this crazy popup mini golf in the area, called Smash Putt. It was constructed by maniacs, utilizing pneumatic air cannons, saw blades, propane torches, mechanical trickery, hidden doors, puzzle solving to drop your ball in a cat box of litter etc. A nighttime event at random warehouses/abandoned facilities with a full bar, multi-color lighting, lasers, music. That's what I call putt putt golf.

BTW, @ybbaaabby, you probably saw, but in that gum alleyway (Post Alley) is Unexpected Productions, which houses Seattle Theatersports. Widely considered and certainly in my own opinion, the best improv in Seattle.

Great video overall! Glad GB was able to come here (again) after all the smoke from the unfortunate California fires mostly cleared out of the area.

I live in Seattle and didn't know there were in-door minigolf courses here.

These vlogs are how I stay current with the young people.

I've lived in WA my entire life, and to be honest I don't go to Seattle much at all. That said, I much prefer the few times I've been at night time because there aren't a whole lot of people walking around. It's just kind of weirdly relaxing, and the Public Market at that point is kind of pretty with the Ferris wheel nearby lit up.

Awwww this makes me homesick. I love Seattle. And yeah that library is really amazing, it's cool how on any given floor you can see into one or two other floors, it's brilliant design.

My wife pointed out Snape dying in that last segment and I lost my shit. Someone else mentioned it but the nighttime “adult” tunnel tour is a lot of fun. You get the same basic Seattle history but you get to learn about the super interesting old sex worker economy as well. Glad you got up to the library, it rules really hard. Love the vlogs, genuinely one of my favorite parts of all y’all going out to these things. Take care.
