I've not read the details of the offer, but is it actually free or is it just an elongated version of one of those weekend deals? Will  the game will lock out for those who've not payed by the end of the month?

people have said that they deleted it from their computer and it stays on their steam games owned, so one would assume it lasts.

Well I'm not sure my laptop would run it... even if it could I own it on 360 and don't think I'd ever play it on my laptop.  So, thanks, but no thanks.  An insanely awesome deal for anybody with a gaming machine that does not own it yet.
