Man, I wish they would have done a part 3. There is something about this game that is terrible to the point of absurdity and I loved it.

Finally watched both parts this morning. Too bad RPG's not a thing anymore.

And I thought Morrowind was an overly complicated, rough around the edges game when I played it for the first time a year back. My god is Daggerfall a beast of obfuscation and old-school complexity. Those dialogue options simply scare me like Morrowind's did.

I will admit that this must have been incredible for its time. Can't believe how ambitious it is. There's no way I could play it though.

Yeah, the "them blaming gamebryo" wasn't specific to Daggerfall, but something they've blamed the issues of every game they've made since Morrowind on, despite other devs seemingly not having as many issues with the engine.

@fisk0: i don't think there is any way a game this old is running on gamebryo but i could be talking out of my ass on this one. (meaning i could be wrong :P)

It was an Bethesda game, despite them blaming Gamebryo, they always seem to be the common denominator. After all, almost 100 games use the engine, few of which where criticized for bugs.

damn these are awesome. you guys really should do wizardry8 like this as well. and some might and magic games. haha. might and magic 7. go for it. the newer wizards and warriors on pc. all perfect for this. I am drooling. do it!

this engine really is minecrafty.

The combat system in the Elder Scrolls games haven't changed that much.

For the love of all that is good and holy - PLEASE no more Daggerfall. Two videos should be enough of this game, it honestly bores me to tears. And yes, I recognize it is an ancient game of game design past.

I've said it before, Bioforge would be awesome (and right up Dave's alley, seeing as it's pretty obtuse)

Alone in the Dark 1, 2 and 3 are all up on GOG for $6. I'd definitely love to see them play 2. When do they do these anyway?

System Shock 2 should kind of be one of their in-house TNT's. It's co-op mode is amazing, and amazingly buggy.

But yes, Wizardry 8 could be interesting.

As one of their requirements was that the game should be available digitally (neither Wiz8 or SS2 are), maybe Daikatana could be interesting (it's available on GamersGate, possibly also D2D).

I want to see Dave play Icewind Dale. I'd always heard about it but never played it before.

I think I would probably enjoy just a "Dave & Vinny Eat Breakfast" Quick Look.

I want to see these guys do a playthrough of Baldur's Gate 2 Complete from GoG.com. That'd be ffing amazing, I would also be able to get atleast 3 new memberships if that happened. Hell I'd even donate 50 bucks to you guys if you did.

EDIT: Man, I hated C prompt. I was better at computer jibberish when I was 10 with all the dir/p cd run crap than I am now. I don't remember any of it. If I accidentally get sent back to 1992 and the only way for me to come back is to run something in command prompt, I'm totally screwed.

Daggerfall was one of the games that really defined my childhood gaming experience, the other two were X-Com and Tyrian.

That said, as much as I love the rich history of 90s PC RPGs, I have to wonder how appropriate they are for this kind of format. Most of these RPGs start of very slowly, and really become enjoyable after you have begun to wrap your head around a lot of the mechanics. Perhaps if they do another RPG video, they should chose one they are already pretty intimately familiar with (I think I saw Dave mention being an Arcanum fan which is an utterly fantastic game). Or, maybe put in a few hours of it on their own time and show it off when they have a good idea what they're doing.

As for great non-RPG games that would work with this, Dungeon Keep 1/2 is brilliant and recently released on GoG. Crusader: No Remorse also just came out on GoG. I think Police Quest: SWAT could be a lot of fun (the first FMV-based game). And some more obvious titles like TIE Fighter and the Mechwarrior games.

Daggerfall seems brutal to play. It doesn't help that the game was buggy either. I'm glad you guys have decided to do another game next time.
