Just started watching it but just wanted to say before hand that I loved the Blair Witch games when they came out. I found their stories really interesting and kinda disturbing and thought it was really interesting way to explore the myths and legends talked about in the movie. I remember that each game cost something like £10 each and were released about a month apart like a really early example the episodic release format.

The first Blair Witch game (the one Patrick is playing) actually serves as a spin-off of the game Nocturne which i absolutely loved. Sort of classic resident evil style games with slightly better controls and more combat focused. Again, really cool horror stories for the time imo.

Anyway I hope he isn't too harsh on it but I can totally understand that it didn't age very well.

Edit: Ahh apparently he played them back in the day too and pretty much said the same info i just wrote so thats cool :p

Fake Dale Cooper was the coolest part of that Blair Witch game...that and the awesome jacket physics!

I continue to be rather shocked by how well written The Last Door is for a Spanish team. That's a nice job they're doing. I'd like to see them try something more ambitious when they're done, since their bread and butter seems to be commissioned promotional games.

I will never get tired of Patrick freaking out at every loud noise.

Turned this on last night, but can't say anything because chat does not work for me. I found the Blair witch project totally cool, despite itself. I wonder if any of the artist that worked on Deus Ex also worked on this. The Germanic S+M looking lady especially struck me as a cross over. The lip sync(or faking of such ability), was beautifully janked, and I really took to the protagonist in a...I'll leave that alone. She was purty!

Also that one where you was going from room to room had a few moments. The more developed pixelated game afterwards might have become interesting also.

Blair Witch 1 and Nocturne were hella cool. As a horror fan, I thought they felt so right and captured the atmosphere of a cheezy old horror movie perfectly.

I love the Poe-esque vibe from The Last Door. That game seems nice.

I'm kind of annoyed about how the Blair Witch game is treated in this video (and in the chat, it was even worse there.) The game is 13 years old. A lot of people didn't like it for a lot of reasons, but nobody talked shit about the graphics at the time. It was universally hailed as looking great.

I mean for an independent team who doesn't seem to have native speakers in it, it all works remarkably well. Cervantes wrote in Spanish :)

I mean, if it was a big, expensive game like Castlevania, I'd assume they have a dedicated localization team helping them make it all sound natural or a writer doing the script natively in English. I don't have that expectation for tiny indie games with a budget of five thousand pounds, and it often shows in that kind of thing. These guys did a great job.

I don't mind him making fun of an old game because to be fair, some of it looks really funky these days but he did come across as extra extra snarky at times. Still, looking forward to seeing some more BW.

I think my favorite part of the first BW game was all investigating around the town, really interesting at times. Exploring the woods and the combat got really grating after a while.

It's too bad he quit the Blair Witch game JUST when it gets interesting.

Once more, a great show. I especially enjoyed the Blair Witch game. So, please, give us more of that!

The music used in that Blair Witch game is also used in Everyday Genius: SquareLogic. It's trying to set a spooky tone, but instead it's making me think about math.

wow that 2d adventure game is fantastic. PATRICK - I am highly recommending Black Mirror (first game). My fav horrod adventure. not that scary but atmosphere and mystery is well done

Man, such a bummer he didn't get to play Undying! Hope he fixes that with an extra long playthrough next time!

I gotta admit, these laughs are a nice bit of a change-up from all the jump scares.

Honest question: What's to get annoyed about? The game's background and lighting looks great, even for today, but the story (what little we got of it) was hackneyed and barely connected to the Blair Witch movie at all, the glitches were numerous (and hilarious), and the controls looked positively abysmal even in the Resident-Evil era of tank controls.

I get it that people sometimes like a game for its charm and heart despite its flaws (I definitely have my share) but I don't see Patrick saying anything about this game that it doesn't deserve.

Loved this episode! Definitely want to see more of that Blair Witch game :-P

Was that guy in a suit at the diner a Twin Peaks reference? He reminds me of agent Cooper.

Also the coats in this game are amazing, the mouth animation is amazing, those circle transitions are pretty amazing. I want to see Patrick play this whole game.

Edit: That disappearance halfway through actually got me when I realized he was standing in the back of the room. Bravo Patrick for the Halloween theatrics.

Even though the games share the same engine, I am still baffled by the developer tying their Blair Witch game into the Nocturne universe.
