@squirrelnacho: As someone that just watched all 4 of them Fury Road is buy far the best by a mile and then 2 then 3 and 1 but Fury Road is in a level on its own more of that world the better

If it was your first time watching any Mad Max movies, then it makes sense that you would like the new ones as you've probably don't have any nostalgia. The newer one plays better with modern sensibilities. How could you possibly put Thunderdome before Mad Max 1? The first one is a classic.

Since the conversation is diverging from anything related to the actual video game, I'll throw in my two cents -- "Mad Max" (the first movie) had NOTHING to do with the "Road Warrior" or "Beyond Thunderdome". There was no indications of a post-apocalyptic world, no weirdo raider-gangs, no crazy kit-bashed cars; it was just a revenge movie of an Australian Highway Patrol officer who chases down and murders his way through a completely mundane criminal biker gang. It's an ok movie, but ironically there's nothing mad-max about "Mad Max".

The first Mad Max introduced the character's back story, and the cars and characters from the first movie are iconic. Yes, the second and third film share a somewhat features, but it the first two are almost always considered the better films and are noticably different in tone.

It's a decent if not good open-world game with a unique twist that other games like Batman/Assassin's Creed don't have. Don't let Fury Road or the coverage of the game sour your expectations. If you like story and characters, that is enough to enjoy the game. Chumbucket's a better Gollum.

This looks a bit tame compared to Fury Road...

Hm, a mix of vehicle customization, road combat, meaty fisticuffs, and sex scenes? Well, I guess Ride to Hell: Retribution clones were inevitable.

Does ID Software get a cut of the sales from this, since they directed the art style for them? Really disappointed to see more Fury Road here than Road Warrior. That movie has doomed this franchise to unimaginative generic diesal-punk action forever.

Also, as an Australian I think I can say with some authority that that is one of the worst Australian accents I've heard in video games for a long time. Is it really so hard to phone up a talent agent and just ask them to send over actual Australians - it isn't like we're not bloody everywhere.

Poor Avalanche. After the success of Fury Road, I think the expectations for this game will be very different from when they announced this game last year. The game doesn't look half as crazy as the movie, which is weird since Avalanche is probably the best pick to make something like this.

We'll see I guess. I'm going to check this out at some point, since I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic worlds and Avalanche's games. But I'm not that stoked about it :/

Tom Hardy's grunts as Mad Max is better than all the terrible writing in this trailer.

Lol it's funny to see all the cynical gamers predictably have the urgent need to let the world know how much they hate this new Mad Max and that the old one was cooler. "What something's popular and I don't like it, must describe unpopular opinion as fact!"

@ch3burashka: Whats the unique twist? the setting?

Car combat. Unique in the open-world genre - don't be bringing up things like Twisted Metal, it ain't the same.

Well for as terrible as it is Max's accent is better here than in the movie, though that's hardly a challenge. Did Charlize Theron even try? Or was it part of her backstory to sound nothing like the rest of them.

@ch3burashka: Batman Arkham Knight seems to do pretty much the same thing.I guess carcombat and tank combat is slightly different.

hmmmm, could be fun.... does feel slightly toned down run of the mill game after seeing how bright and colorful the visuals of Fury Road were.

By the way, Mad Max having a romantic interest just feels wrong. The character was never about that.

Other than the first movie being about him trying to protect his wife and child from the changing world. What other love interest has Max had? I assume you think there was a love interest in Fury Road?
