Really bummed out after what Jeff said about this game. Seems like it's definitely not what I want out of a Mad Max game.

It'd be cool if there were more Australian voices, but I'll be content with playing the Aussie guy beating up Americans with cars.

I really hope this is good. Avalanche Studios are one of my favorite developers and Just Cause 2 is definitely in my top 10 games of all time list. I imagine this will be a mix between Just Cause 2 and Renegade Ops in the Mad Max universe. That alone sounds awesome, so I hope that's what we get.

The tone doesn't seem manic enough. After seeing Fury Road, all I want is to be in this world, but this seems more Twisted Metal than Mad Max. Maybe gameplay videos will reveal more.

It's interesting how I had zero interest in this until the movie.

In other news, time to finish that second disc of Rage.

It would be better if it looked more like Mad Max 1 and 2 instead of Fury Road. The cars and atmosphere were better in the original movies. The first trailer for this game looked neat, but the enemies from Fury Road just don't seem as interesting as the Road Warrior.

@deranged: That's similar to the (tired) Ubisoft formula. Outposts, batman combat, climb stuff, etc.

There is vehicle customization though, that might be neat.

Glad to see Avalon still holds on to their hilariosly bad voice actors. God that was awful. Game looks decent, though it seems to take itself WAY to serious for a Mad Max game. Also is that protagonist Talion? Pretty sure that's Talion.

When I saw there was 20 seconds left in the video I knew there was going to be some kind of "Pre-order now to get ___!" Fucking Warner Bros., that's probably just the tip of the iceberg too.

@hassun: The way I'm looking at it is it's Shadow of Mordor with car combat. It could end up alright. Also with both games being WB I wish they'd borrow the nemesis system too.

Unfortunately, by comparison to Fury Road, this trailer reminds me of how corny and cliche the action genre is as a whole. I was exited for this, and I'd like more Mad Max, but i hope the game holds up better than this trailer. Hell, i'll take goofy 80s adventure, "Thunderdome" to the douchey modern action vibes this things giving me.

It doesn't really look like Fury Road at all, though. The game looks much more grey and lifeless in comparison, which actually reminds me of the original films more than anything (in a good way).

For comparison's sake, here's a color-corrected GIF someone on GAF made in order to show how the game would be if it looked more like Fury Road:

Fury Road was so great that I feel a strong aversion to any other Mad Max material that is not Fury Road out of fear that it'll ruin the great memories I have from watching Fury Road. Fury Road.

In other words, I don't want go through what happened to the Matrix with Fury Road.

If it was your first time watching any Mad Max movies, then it makes sense that you would like the new ones as you've probably don't have any nostalgia. The newer one plays better with modern sensibilities. How could you possibly put Thunderdome before Mad Max 1? The first one is a classic.

Fury Road felt a lot more like a bigger budget Thunderdome than Mad Max 1 or Road Warrior. The older ones were bleaker and more imaginative, and some of the characters just felt cartoonish in the new movie. Tom Hardy did make a good Max Max.

Might be just me, but this trailer reminded me of Arkham in all the wrong ways.

Still, even if the story sucks; I get to play as Mad Max fucking shit up in The Wasteland with my car. That alone is more than worth a buy for me.

Besides, Max is Aussie in this; which at least shows these guys love the franchise and know what they're doing.

Max never sounded like a D-List Australian voice actor. Max should sound like fucking Max. This trailer got me worried about so many things. The tone, the visual style, just everything... lets hope I'm proven wrong.

For a big game you'd think WB would put more effort into making a better trailer?

Fury Road was the worst thing to happen to this game.

I have zero interest in this now.

The film looked more like a video game than the actual video game.

This is looking pretty good, hopefully the end product works out. I'm not too worried about the colour palette, other things they've shown have looked much more colourful, so it's probably dependent on area/time of day.

I love that the main villain is named Scrotus and has a giant metal spike on his codpiece. That's a Mad Max ass Mad Max villain right there.
