That EarthBound Game Is Now Available on Wii U

I guess at this point Earthbound fans can put up or shut up.

Already finished my yearly play-through of this game, but I'm still buying this when I get home.

I would have preferred if this was on the 3DS, but it's good for the Wii U owners.

I have a pretty good excuse: My Wii hasn't been plugged in for over two years, and I'm not actually totally sure where in my house it is.

I though it was going to play the Saints Row 3 menu music there for a second.

I tried to play this back when I was young and couldn't afford new games so I played SNES RPGs on an emulator. I played a lot of games I loved, but I couldn't get over the rudimentary graphics on this one.

Now release Mother 3 on the 3DS. This is important.

I'm about half way through a SNES playthrough of the game. Guess its time to finally finish it.

I want this on the 3DS! I guess I'll continue to play it on my Nexus tablet. lol

It's kind of ironic that I finally broke down and bought the SNES cart for a ridiculous sum of money this past December. I will still buy this though, because Earthbound is freaking awesome.

Awesome! Oh wait, it's on that console no-one has. Because apparently the Wii isn't powerful enough or something? Nintendo, you baffle me. Guess I'm sticking with my SNES cart.

It's a well-known fact that this is the only time entertainment and art came together to achieve perfection...so ya know, you KINDA owe it to yourself, AND THE WORLD, to play it.

It would be a tragedy if someone didn't cover EarthBound in some form or another. And this makes no sense being on the WiiU, portability is best for JRPGS. Just look at SMT4 and Persona 4 Golden.

A lot of games aren't designed for portables but would stil be nice to play on one. Mother 3 was on the GBA and it's design isn't exactly portable friendly.

Well, I still have my original cart but I'm one of those fools that hopes that if they might finally release mother 3 here on the eShop or something if this sells well.

This is the greatest RPG ever made. At least, in my mind it is. I loved the hell out of this game though, I don't think I'll be picking it up if it's in that version of virtual console where u have to boot up a fake Wii interface to get to it. If so, wtf Nintendo, how is that still not just on the Wii U yet?

Wonder if we'll ever get the good virtual console games on 3DS anymore if they're trying to push the WiiU with them. Seems silly that they won't put these games on both.

What makes Earthbound less suitable for portables than Mother 3? I'm willing to go out on a limb here and suggest that the portability of the SNES (or lack thereof) had absolutely nothing to do with Shigesato Itoi's design decisions.

They should probably buy one seeing as it's a next-gen console then, shouldn't they?

I think the reason people shouldn't play Earthbound is simple, it's mechanics are a bit too dated. Compared to other great SNES RPGs at the time I still don't get why this one stands out. It uses a lot of archaic game mechanics that rely heavily on grinding.

I've already seen complaining about the price. Called that shit. Gamers are all talk. Nintendo brought this over after all the bitching. Put your money where your mouths' are.

The only excuse I now have to not play it is the inflated price because Earthbound.

I already felt that VC games were a touch overpriced for what they really amount to: a ROM, but the increased price (which I don't believe is justifiable, and is exploitative of loyal fans) of this title is a real deal-breaker for me on principal alone.

I don't want to see tier-pricing like this become the norm, so I will vote with my wallet. It may be futile, but it feels like the right thing to do.
