It's probably scripted that way, but it looks much stealthier. I like.

I still haven't finished Brotherhood :( So I only watched a few minutes of this video before quitting out. I can't wait to head back to Masyaf though, so glad they're bringing the old areas back!

Looks pretty good, but then again I'd be happy with any more Assassin's Creed anyway.

It's been a while since I played AC1, but are those new voice actors for Altair and Al-Mualim?

This just reminded me of how much I love the AC series. I'm ready for some more stabbing dudes in the neck and jumping off of high walls action.

Also, since this is Ezio's last run I'm really going to miss his "requesta de pache."

@Aishan: For Al-Mualim, that's definitely the same voice actor (who also voiced Duncan in Dragon Age: Origins). For Altair, that's definitely a new voice actor, whom I do not recognise!

Looks like the faces have been vastly improved over AC 2 and Brotherhood. Shapin up to be a much better game than the predecessor...again. Man, only having one year cycles to finish a game these guys are really killing it.

Some really jarring contrivances there, 'bomb crafting station?' And near the end of the mission all of a sudden Ezio is healed and can climb again?...

Altair's west asian english accent was necessary though so I'm glad they added it

Hm. So, much of the point of the original Assassin's Creed as a heroic journey was that Altair was a conceited prick at the start who through shanking nine dudes in the face learned self-restraint and control. Admittedly a weird kind of hero's journey, but hey, whatever.

However, this thing says it's starting up as Altair before the events of the first Assassin's Creed, yet in the demo he doesn't seem to be behaving as a conceited prick to the traitor/crusader? I'm less than clear here on what his journey's going to look like in-story.

Looking good, not sure how I feel about Altair's new voice. While I know not historically accurate I prefer the voice in the original.

Loving the new bomb mechanics though. Can't wait.

@Hexogen: Very true, but it bothered me more because of the way the narrator of the demo talked as if it wasn't a game you were watching.

Ha, they got rid of the old Altaïr voice actor. That's probably a good thing since he was pretty terrible.

@phrosnite: Ever actually played an AC since the first game? Combat has greatly improved in Brotherhood. Expecting all combat systems to be like AA is setting you up for a lot of disappointment.

Furthermore, I snickered when they said "too wounded to climb, Ezio must..." and then immediately saw him break into a run and pounce on a dude. Looking real wounded there, Ezio.

Different voice actors for Altair era characters? And Altair doesn't look anything like Desmond anymore.

Also, the game seems much more linear in the Ezio part. They didn't really show any sort of open city but ACII and AC:B had those moments too.

I really like the AC games, but I really wish they would stop making the combat easier and easier. Each game, they give Ezio more and more ways to kill dudes until every soldier is just a joke. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I really liked how it was actually hard to kill to kill guys in the first game, especially a group of them, so you actually had an impetus to be stealthy. In Brotherhood especially, there was just almost no danger in being spotted unless it ended the mission.

I was thinking the same thing. This game is so close to just becoming a third-person free-running Thief.

Huh? The first game's combat was still braindead easy and they still haven't changed the dreadful AI, attacking one at a time with like 10 seconds in between attacks. It's dumb.

I think it's because of just the sheer size of the Ubisoft dev team that I have no reason to doubt that they'll repeat the success they had with a one year cycle for Brotherhood, with Revelations.
