" @Turambar: So, I don't understand how pointing out that you seemed to be bitterly rejecting out of hand what I know to be true is supposed to wind up with me as the bitter one here. Some amazingly backwards logic. Up until this point you haven't inquired after what I know... I mean, that is if what you've written there is actually an inquiry. Is it?  On the second point, again, Turambar, a satire does not have to cover each and every facet of an idea to be a complete parody of that idea.As for narrow mindedness, I was actually simultaneously aiming that comment at the thread. What makes you ask? "

If what you know to be true is falsity as far as I'm concerened, is there a reason I shouldn't bother rejecting it out of hand?  If you disagree and want to claim what you learned is indeed true and I'm the one that's wrong, feel free to by all means.  But don't feel so offended if someone on the internet simply shrugs at all your claims say you're wrong, made all the more easier when your claims are simply reemphasizing how supposedly learned you are about anime.  I'm not the bitter one here, you are.

I haven't inquired what you know because, as previously stated, I don't really care what you know, and neither have you given me a reason to otherwise.  My responses aren't inquiries into whatever knowledge you may or may not have, they're just dismissals of your faulty opinion, pure and simple.  I suppose I can condense them into just "no, you're wrong" each time, but eh.  I write these while watching old episodes of CSI at the same time so I don't mind making them longer.

No, satire doesn't need to cover every facet, but it does need to cover every major feature of an idea.

When someone makes the statment "Turambar, that is the definition of narrow mindedness", I'd say most would agree that that statement is being directed towards "Turambar", not  the thread.  I asked since Ashogo was the only one who mentioned narrow-mindedness in a post that you responded to.  I have yet to make any similar accusations.

@Turambar:  Ok, this is getting a little taxing. Again, Turambar, I do not understand exactly what I'm supposed to be bitter about here. I haven't actually shared what I know with you yet, because you don't seem interested. You not being interested in learning about this subject means precisely nil to me. It means nothing, other than it shows you to be unwilling to listen and learn to facts and ideas that disagree with your own. That you know my "opinion" to be wrong can be nothing more than an egregious fallacy because you don't know what my "opinion" is, at all. Now, I'd like to share what I know with you... but that's just because I enjoy teaching. It just sounds like you're afraid of learning facts that challenge your beliefs. And, personally, that makes me really sad for you.

As for the parody, the major features of anime covered where incompressible narrative and over sexualized characters. You may not agree with the parody. That does not make the parody any less successful.

As for the narrow mindedness, I was addressing both you and the thread. The thread has been confused as to the definition of narrow mindedness. You have displayed a great deal of narrow mindedness. Put them together, there it be.

Never could really get into CSI myself. I was more into Law and Order. CSI always seemed too over glossed and fake.

You seem bitter and offended because I have no intention of asking at all, caused ironically by the fact that you don't seem to have any interest in telling me.  Your defense for your opinion is that you're learned, never the actual contents of what you learned.  If you feel the contents give credence to your point, I see no reason why you would actually wait for me to ask.  And yes, I am very unwilling to listen to an opinion whose backing is only made up of "I'm learned."  I'm far more receptive when there is content worth listening to.

Ask a person what they think of when they hear convoluted narrative and sexualized female characters and anime will certainly not be the only thing to come to their minds.  Again, those are not the major features of anime, but the major features of media at large.  We only know this is a parody of anime because of magical school girl troupes used in it.  Those troupes are some of the major features found in anime.  Those troupes are however by no means the only major features of anime.  Hence, why I can both agree with the parody, and also disagree with people trying to lift the scope of it higher than it actually reaches.

If I'm narrow minded because I don't care for opinion lacking reasoning, then by all means, I'm narrow minded.

Law and Order is just as fake and glossy as CSI is as far as I'm concerned.  Both are good shows, but I find CSI far more interesting because of Grissom's character.
