And what, Brad?!?!

Posted by Steadying

This doesn't really look as good as I was expecting graphically. I mean, some parts look great, but others are really meh.

Looks like Max Payne but different time mechanic....

Edited by r3d_zombie

looks uninspired, got bored half way through the trailer

Posted by SpaceCouncil

I'm getting strong Infamous vibes from this one skywalker

Posted by horseman6

This doesn't look a whole lot better visually than Alan Wake. I was also hoping that Remedy would finally do something more story focused and cut down on the action by quite a bit. A Remedy Twin Peaks game would be great.

You've already uploaded this I think?

brads description being cut off reminds me of candlejack. pretty funny stu

Pew! Pew! Sllllloooooowwwwww mooooooo. Pew! Pew!

Where have I seen this before?

Posted by Jackhole

I'm pretty sure Patrick already put this video up on Tuesday.

My most anticipated next gen game. Looks incredible

Edited by SomeJerk

Looks fine graphically for me with good artistic direction but please let this be early as hell in the game and a bad showing of the gameplay :(

Posted by Rzxvc

@jackhole: I think that's the joke.

Get it, time paradoxes? HUR HUR.

Posted by NeoCalypso

Yeah this is kinda meh.

Posted by xXHesekielXx

Yeah.,,, but naa, i don't know...i mean, it looks really good, but got kinda bored half way into the gameplay.

Posted by LucidDreams117

Surprised by the lack of interest in this. I'm loving what I'm seeing of this so far. Sill early, but I'm on board with this.

The game looks cool (I really like how the time manipulation looks to be strategic), but it's a XBox one exclusive so I'll probably never get to play it (unless it ends up coming to PC I mean). =(

Posted by barringgaffner

@r3d_zombie: you missed the good part then.. very cool ending.

Posted by Code601

Press X to throw car and win fight. Lame ass game-play mechanic.

Posted by Twisted

@luciddreams117: I agree, this doesn't seem too well received so far but I think it looks great. Time will tell if it stays that way.

Edited by dachande5

visually its astounding however the gameplay concerns me. the recoil is real strange and it looks like ur fighting with the gun more than the baddies. theres also no visceral feedback for when u shoot at a guy; it didnt look like he was doing a thing to those big ass dudes. some of the powers are also confusing, was that little bubble he put people in stopping the guys and the bullets matrix style so he can just instant kill them?

Posted by Quantical

@r3d_zombie: lol guess you miss all the best bits of movies too.

Posted by ThatOneDudeNick

I think it looks great. Not sure how long it would take for the stuff towards the end to lose it's appeal. The gun play before that point didn't look that great. I'm interested, but not yet excited.

Posted by r3d_zombie

@quantical: huh? watched it all, just found it boring

Yawn, reductionism is so 2006.

Give me a handful of shooters with time manipulation powers that play exactly like this rather than the typical slow-mo. This is more like Dishonored with the freezing time and changing positions, and I don't get that often.

Looks cool, in a Watch Dogs kinda way. Not bad, but not great either...

Posted by steveurkel

wow that looks super boring

Posted by RevCosmosis

While the graphical quality isn't maybe as high as I would've liked (especially after seeing PT), all of the little graphical and sound touches are pretty dang cool. Here's to hoping they do more with this mechanic than apply it to different dude-shooting scenarios, eh?

Posted by MonkeyKing1969

The game play is not as different or as unique as I expected, it is a great deal like other games with bullet-time or "time stop" mechanics. The story might be what about this game that could be interesting. The graphics are okay, not shockingly nice, but not bad.

I think this will be all about 'if" they can pull off a compelling story. Ironically this game in vertical slice Alpha seemed to have stressed how cool things looks with time stopped...but that is where it looks worst now. Without the high-end PC graphics and high end filters the stopped motion faces look plastic. I guess like a lot of this gen, the game 'bullshots" from e3 2013 were a bit too optimistic.

Maybe, cancelling most of the TV show stuff was a good idea...

Edited by KaneRobot

Wasn't really thinking anything about this game, but this has me interested. As long as the time mechanic isn't limited to just what's shown in this video, this seems like it could be really good.

Not sure what some of the parole here are taking about. It looks pretty damn good.

Quantum Break just looks like Max Payne played by Natahn Drake.

I need to see more for sure, but the character seems too generic for me and the gameplay looks dated.

...are shooters dead? They don't seem exiting anymore.

Posted by jvalenti57

I thought it looked kinda cool! Interested to see how this game develops.

Posted by Forgeticus

Nothing about this except the general art direction has peaked my interest.

Edited by mems1224

Looks awesome. Can't wait to see more.

Posted by Stonyman65

What is it with games and near-future PMCs these days? God, these games aren't even out yet and I'm already bored of it.

The game does look great and I really like the time effects. As always I'm sure Remedy will make a weird/interesting story.. Not sure how I feel about the mechanics though. Like others have said, it kind of seems like a knockoff of Uncharted and Max Payne but without all of the cool stuff Uncharted and Max Payne did. I'm withholding judgment until we see the entire game, but if it's just shooting dudes from behind cover and slowing down time... I don't think that is all that interesting for an entire game.

Posted by SL33TBL1ND

Brad trailing off in video descriptions is pretty great. This game? Maybe not so much.

It's piqued, actually.

Posted by timewarp

I really hope there is more to the mechanics than a cover-shooter with supernatural powers to become nearly invincible. Love the time manipulation concept though. Lots of potential for unique story telling, and over-the-top set-piece moments.

Posted by Dark_Lord_Spam

@brad Yo, Brad. This is a duplicate trailer, y'all first posted it a few days back.

Posted by Sideburnt

Jesus, why are you all so freggin' negative? "no visceral feedback"...really how can you tell? "Sill early, but I'm on board with this"...Oh, so you're a flat piece of wood? "looks uninspired"....Hmmm because the game has a time mechanic and you shoot people? Or is it because it's made by the people who made slowing down time and shooting people a...."thing"? I just don't understand the overflow of videogame hipsters now. You can't judge until you PLAY.

Posted by John1912

Wow, that looks pretty amazing imo! Lot of fucking whiners.

Posted by valeo

Red barrels, gta-esque cover shooting...yep, not for me.

Edited by whatisdelicious

@sideburnt: A lot of it are nitpicks, but like, at the end of the day, if this is how they want to represent their game, then a third-person cover shooter with a couple interesting time mechanics is not the most exciting pitch these days.

Aaaaaaaaaaand you're crazy.

Go back and play Alan Wake at its 600p resolution on Xbox and then tell me this games doesn't look significantly better. Hell, I've plated Alan Wake maxed out on PC at 1080 and, while it's a gorgeous game it's still very much of its time.

I get people's concerns about the gameplay but seriously? You have some seriously rose tinted glasses there.

I don't see anything innovative in this gameplay. It reminds me a lot of things like Singularity and Haze; but not in an evolutionary way. I suspect I may enjoy it, because I liked Alan Wake so much, but that'll be despite the shoot-red-barrel gameplay.

Also, I hope it isn't as "impossible to fail" as Dishonored was, where you can blink through entire levels (like the end).

These eight minutes just diminished my excitement, significantly. I hope they roll something else out in the next month or so that shows this as a small part of the game play and not representative of the bulk.

Yes, it's a shooter. They've said so from the very start. Remedy's bread and butter.

Singularity was a huge missed opportunity with its time powers, I already see Quantum Break beating that with not being as scripted with the powers and creativity possible around them. Quantum Break might not be innovative in its combat gameplay (haven't seen enough really), but it looks to be the most well executed in the space of time manipulation shooters. The storytelling will be interesting. Getting to help NPCs in time stutters. There's also the fact of the branching storyline:

Haze? lol

Seeing it in motion really makes it!

WOW!!!

Before this video I was not at all interested.
