Witness the Return of Max Payne

I actually prefer the original Max Payne theme. I was never a big fan of the slowed down, violin version.

Anyway, I just had a man-gasm just seeing video footage of Max Payne 3. It looks interesting. I would just like to see more. Max Payne has always been a series about stories. I doubt this will be any different.

And yeah, seeing Max Payne looking haggard-as-hell with a built-in, world-weary grimace, it all looks so good.

OH RIGHT, because it's UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE for someone currently at Sao Paulo territory to ever wear a Fluminense shirt, GOD FORBID! Come on, mate. I live in Sao Paulo and go to work with a bloody Manchester shirt whenever I feel like it, and I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one.

Also your sunny day picture is of the city centre not of a favela. Seriously. Stop complaining about this it makes little sense. Also sunny days in Sao Paulo: not as common as fluminense's shirts. lol

Reminds of that Denzel movie, "Man on Fire".

I have been nothing but worried about the state of this game and how it is gonna turn out. After seeing this, it may not hold the film noir feeling anymore but it is trying to get a more gritty and story that looks more into Max and his future. The inner torment, the self punishment and the him being lost in his own body seems to be reaching a boiling point. He is no longer the Max we knew and the shaving of the head is like the start of a new thing. I still worry about this game and I pray that it will have a rich story and characters that you grow to love and care about.

I think you forget this is a story / character driven game, the people portrayed are characters of fiction, and hey, they like flowery shirts. Sacrifices to realism for the sake of entertainment is A-ok in my book. I want a Max Payne game, not a Brazilian thug realism simulator.

Ok how could you possibly come to that conclusion when 99% of that trailer is indoors and close up shots? You got maybe 5 seconds of scenery.

If you really want to get into it, there are other screen shots floating around, and I'd say it looks like Sau Paulo's ghettos and downtown.

Again, it's also a video game that never focused on realism, but story. I don't think any fan of Max Payne would give a shit if the city wasn't portrayed accurately. We do not want to play this game because of that.

Its Rockstar so I have faith. Its been forever since they put out anything that was less then great so chances of this being awesome are pretty high.

This looks awesome. I don't know what people are complaining about.

I'm split on this. I do like a fresh take on the location, because it is dark and grimy. But it is so different. Not a bad thing, we'll see how it goes.

LOL at fanboys who are "experts" at noir after playing a couple of fucking video games. Noir isn't a color palette nor is it only NYC.

Do we really need another NYC setting? No, that's more played out than a fps with US military. Sao Paulo makes NYC look like Disneyland. This game is going to be grimey.

It looks like Max Payne and those calling it a GTA clone are idiots. Remember, Remedy sold off the rights to the IP and the sequel came out 8 years ago. If you want to blame anyone for the supposed terribleness, blame Remedy. Also, go ahead and completely disregard Rockstar having a hand in both of the previous games. I think it looks great and I'm very excited for it.

I'm guessing none of you played Alan Wake? It took Remedy 5 years to churn out a very mediocre game.

this reminds me more of a Die Hard game Or a Kane & Lynch game than a Max Payne game :(

I like that trailer a lot though. While this doesn't look exactly like the first two games, in the sense that this isn't trying to be some hyper-ecentric NY film noir cop movie, it does seem like it is following the overall sense of those games well. It still seems like the focus is on Max dealing with the tragedy around him. Max leaving the city makes complete sense after 2 (the "bad" ending anyway) and I really like the shaved head thing now (gives a great Taxi Driver vibe). The entire trailer have me hope that this could be a really great ex-cop story.

You have to got to be kidding me. If this is one of the best stories in gaming, then fuck video games. What carried Max Payne was the shooting mechanics and atmosphere. The story was a ridiculous mess of conspiracy theory nonsense. Read a book from time to time .
