Other than taking screenshots of your face doing silly things like on your wiki page on the site, there is no reason to have your face in the corner. Perfectly fine in Spookin' With Scoops, however.

Edit: I have the same keyboard. Yeah, that keyboard sucks.

I don't see the point of having a face cam. Why do people demand it? Its so odd to see that every streamer has one.

People subconsciously have a stronger psychological attachment to a piece of content with a facecam. No joke. I've weighed the comments for/against having the facecam in these videos and others, and for the moment, I like having it here in this feature. It won't be in every one, and won't necessarily be here forever.

I was not prepared for that character sheet showing up in the typing game. That thing seems absolutely amazing.

Just wish the face cam does not obscure a major part of the game, kindof like what happen in Icarus Proudbottom Teaches Typing. With the talking text and all, but i understand you had difficulty, Patrick.

yea during that game it does obstruct the view. maybe for these you should set up the videos similar to how you set up bombasticas

dunno about the limbo styled game and the marble blast styled game,

but that typing game is awesome. all schools that have to practice typing should use that game.

I really dislike facecam for Let's Plays because an LP should be about the game first. Things like TNT and UPF are fine because the game window is scaled to fit the other guys onscreen. There have been multiple times on Spookin' where the facecam got in the way. Not only does it block the screen; I cannot possibly be afraid when I know Scoops it there to protect me.

This is my new favorite game. Fuck Mavis Beacon!

I couldn't agree more. Facecam is pandering and something uninteresting people on youtube and streams use to gather view counts, as their content without it is lacking.

I just finished playing all the way through Icarus Proudbottom Teaches Typing. It goes to some amazingly bizarre places and it doesn't take that long to beat.

I'll agree with you on Spookin' - it does seem to cut down the scary factor a bit. Although I don't know if I could really get scared watching someone else play a horror game anyway.

For this feature, though, I don't know. These aren't full let's plays, and this is still a personality-driven site. A lot of people come to Patrick's stuff for him, more than for any specific game. I'd agree with you if they did that for Endurance Runs, say, but they don't (and who knows if we'll ever get one of those again).

The camera in that Influx game was making me sick.

This typing game has enlightened me to how bad i type now, wow I'm terrible.

I think I was chuckling throughout the entirety of that typing game. That's some seriously good stuff, right there.

Aargh, that typing game looks hilarious but it is unplayable if you have a Japanese keyboard! That sucks.

Just played through Icarus Proudbottom Teaches Typing after watching this and it is a good little game. Surprised I didn't fail anything with this crappy laptop keyboard.

Icarus Proudbottom is probably the greatest thing ever. Ok, maybe not that good, but it's freaking awesome. Goddamn, I really love this feature.

You have GOT to stop naming both the video feature and the article the same thing - one has a 'play' arrow and one doesn't, but I've made the mistake a billion times already. Make some distinction, please.

Bitching aside, thanks for all this - I forgot today was Friday and was pleasantly surprised to see my weekend reading material ready for me.

@patrickklepek I just saw a game on greenlight called Morphopolis. I don't really understand how involving it is from the video and description but the art is Yellow Submarine-ish and, if you're taking requests, maybe you could show it on one of these or a quick look.

Icarus Proudbottom is this year's Frog Fractions, except I like this game even more. I'm even in top 30 of the survival leaderboard (for now), so that's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing @patrickklepek, wouldn't have heard about it otherwise.

@rjayb89: I've got it as well, for couch surfing and navigating menus in controller enabled games that don't have controller enabled menus. Someone would have to be some kind of maniac to use it at a desk.

Until I got to the 01 and then I just wanted to smash my fist through the keyboard.. I can't do it fast enough. Got down to like 2 keys left and timed out.

This continues to be a cool feature. Good work. Also, I like the facecam. I think it's a good compensation for the fact that you don't have anyone to work off of. Makes it feel more natural.

Man that typing game... I knew already that I wasn't the fastest at typing, but damn... That survival mode is brutal.
