Great that you took a look at Pause Ahead. It's worth it to finish the game, frustrating as the final level may be, just to see how inventive it gets with the pausing mechanic. Also, just like Askiisoft's earlier game Tower of Heaven, it gets pretty meta.

See also StarFoxA's thread here, for more general impressions and links to the game's soundtrack (which is really good).

Man, I really dig this feature. How's Chicago treating you so far, Patrick?

Edited by HerbieBug

That sort of, maybe i'll call it, momentum sustain mechanic in Pause Ahead is interesting. Will check that out.

Really like the art in Teslagrad.

A couple of the ghosts in Rambo are found by using random references to films like Ghostbusters or Ghost. I just thought it was an interesting game and it's totally rad you played it!

Thanks Patrick.

Betting that number in Last Blood was 2368 WE'RE READY TO BELIEVE YOU!

Shouting at my screen during Pause Ahead. Hahaha. Frustrating. Come on Patrick!

Grapple Knight and Pause Ahead seem like the standouts this week. They both look pretty cool.

The animation in Teslagrad is gorgeous.

So that pot and boombox scene in the Rambo game was a Ghost reference right?

And the music in Pause Ahead is fantastic.

Posted by rcath

Some of these games are great.

Anyone know where I can play that Discman Game? The soundtrack is SOOOOO dope!

Made me laugh. Glad it was kept it!

I'd be really interested to know a bit more behind the teams or people that are making these games, like what game dev tools they're using, how many people it took and time frames.

Magrunner 2D?

Next time you do one of those quicklooks you should call it "Worth Looking"

Posted by TheManWithNoPlan

These are always a joy to check out. I'd say it's definitely "Worth Watching".

I wanna see a Rambo: Last Blood movie adaptation.

"I guess he's not going to Lobsterfest." That may be the first time I've heard that in regards to a video game.

discman has some seriously pumpin jams, I'd buy the soundtrack

Posted by Luck702

I would freakin kill to find that song from Discman. Anybody have a source?

Posted by Feckhead

@luck702: That was all done by the devs (Russell for the main menu, Brendan for the in game stuff). I'll ask them to post it up.

A few very neat looking games in this one, especially Pause Forward seems cool.

Thanks for another great show, Patrick.

Hmm, not sure what was going on with Grapple Knight. Using Frapps I had some issues between transition screens (it would crash the recording device) but I'm pretty sure I got it working with Open Broadcast Software. Maybe X-Split has it's own issues, but I never encountered severe lag like that.

First one looks swanky. Note the "teach by showing, learn by doing" mentality of the tutorial. Marvelous.

It's Half-Minute Hero, but much simpler!

Grapple Knight suffers from the Wind Waker syndrome of itty bitty damage to the heart meter.

Thanks Patrick.

I'd like to believe that Ryan Davis, up in Valhalla Lobsterfest, is yelling down to Patrick that "555-XXXX is obviously the way all movie phone numbers start. C'mon!"

Played Teslagrad, that is some great stuff. I love that the cute robots don't hurt you (directly). Patrick should have played ahead because you get the dash ability. Inspired me to make some GIFs:

Please make these videos louder in the future. GB videos are really quiet in general but i have a really hard time hearing this one in particular. Thank you.

The Discman soundtrack seems to be inspired by Justice.

Interesting as always! Eastward Quest seemed fairly interesting. Rambo definitely improved from its last version at the Molyjam; it didn't have an epilogue. I think I'll have to play it now. Thanks!

Finished Last Blood and hugged the shit out of all those bad guys. I love the way you collect some of these dudes, especially the one with the pottery and the ghost trap. (2368)

Anyone finish Pause Ahead? I gave up on the boss. Not an easy game!

Posted by Tesson

Just finished Pause ahead. regular and secret ending. feels good.

Posted by BillKiley

@tesson: Dang man, that is super tough! You are a true champion among men.

Edited by Truckalicious

@billkiley: Good to hear Perfect Stranglers in a game, that tune be dope

Posted by BillKiley

@truckalicious: Thanks man! Nice to see an original Molyjam game come so far.
