Wave Race 64 is a good overal experience

My general feeling while playing this game many years ago was mainly positive. The game had an addictive single player mode filled with some impressive visuals, music, and course layouts. The single player aspect of the game is also filled with different challenge modes such stunt, practice, time trials, and of course vs...which is of course more of the multiplayer aspect of the game. Each mode is quite impressive but really stunt mode seems to stand out amongst the rest anything new or different in the game. The whole objective of the game is to obviously beat out your opponents and gain first place but the other objective is to clear each booey(I think I spelled that right) correctly to get a spead boost. Overal the game has 9 courses which you have to unlock as you go throughout the game. To rap things up I'll mention the whole multiplayer experience in a couple of words....it's amazingly simple. Yeah I mean even though this was back in the time before online gamming, the N64 had 4 controller slots so it would only be natural that you'd expect there to be 4 player Multiplayer but sadly there isn't. Yet then again this game was released in the relatively early days of the N64. Also it is interesting to note the fact that this game was universally percieved to have the most realistic water graphics for its time which surprisingly hold up well even in todays world of gaming. Wave Race 64 is one of the must haves for the system in my opinion and is only topped by the series sequal for the Nintendo Gamecube.

Pros: Superb graphics – Great use of the analog stick- Good Soundtrack and sound effects - Nice sense of speed – It’s just plain fun Cons:  Only two player multiplayer ________________ Wave Race is one of Nintendo's best and unfortunately underrated series, it made its debut back in the Gameboy in 1992 and the sequel was released for the N64 in November 1996, it was extremely fun back then and its extremely fun right now. The Premise of the game is simple: Jet Ski water racing in various lo...

Even after twelve years, there still isn't a better jet ski game. 0

Something barely seen in today’s gaming environment are the realistic racing games. Titles that are devoid of rocket launchers and hyper plasma cannons are a thing of the past. Just looking attentively at the release list for the next generation consoles makes that all too apparent. However, in the quiet beginnings of the classic 64 bit era was Wave Race 64, a serene and submerged Jet Ski racer devoid of the flashy gimmicks and the overrated action attachment. Despite its dated and simplistic na...
