Overview
Dating back to 2002, the Way of the Samurai is a series of action-adventure games set in feudal Japan. With players being able to choose from a variety of diverging, branching narratives and multiple endings, the Way of the Samurai games have been considered some of the most open-ended titles available, giving the player more freedom than most big-budget sandbox titles. However, due to the relatively low budgets, the games often have lower production values than their big budget counterparts. The open-ended nature of the games, and the lack of direction, have also been met with mixed reception.
