Hey everyone - I know this may seem like an obvious question to some but I know you can use the Xbox 360 controller as a guitar on the 360 just not sure about the Wii! 
 
Any help would be appreciated - if I only buy the game and not the instruments can I use the Wii controller as an instrument?

Really? Is that true? What the hell would be the point? At least with the Wii I suppose you could do some stupid motion gimmick to emulate the guitars etc but who in their right mind would play Guitar Hero with a regular controller? "

Yeah I used the 360 controller on Guitar Hero 2 I think it was so apologies if they have updated the games and you can't do that anymore!

I don't think you can, since the Wii versions of the Guitar Hero controllers use the Wiimote as the power source, the guitar casing is just a shell with buttons.

Why would you ever wanna do that, it defeats the point of simulating playing an instrument

You can do that in both GH and RB. But what is the point of playing them that way? Not only are they imposibly hard but they're not fun at all.
