This is a good trend. Will Europe get this at all, I wonder? We always get the short end of the stick - the completely featureless Gold subscription is the biggest example.

this game is good
#4 Posted by Niall_Sg1 (362 posts) -

I want to pick up The Walking Dead on Xbox but I know even with this sale the price won't come close to how much they'll be in the steam Christmas sale.

#5 Posted by Generiko (445 posts) -

@Niall_Sg1: According to the xbox sales page the first episode is free

GAH.

Living in Australia and not being able to play The Walking Dead is so annoying.

#7 Posted by DelroyLindo (387 posts) -

#8 Posted by Lumley (964 posts) -

@ValiantGrizzly: I'd expect so, we did last year and I saw this posted on a UK site.

There are more games in that list that I want than that I should buy. Mark of the Ninja, Dust, Trials Evolution, Hydro Thunder, Rock of Ages, The Walking Dead. Fuuuu..

Is it not available here on 360?

Weird as it's on Steam and Australian iOS App Store.

Hows Borderlands 2 DLC?

#14 Posted by morrelloman (609 posts) -

Mark of the Ninja and Dust are a go. This is good.

#15 Posted by Fearbeard (834 posts) -

Looks like I will be buying a lot of games as long as the discount is something like 50% off for the XBLA games.

#16 Posted by Mnemoidian (962 posts) -

I'd considering picking up Dust... but seeing how I won't be starting my Xbox any time soon for any other reason, I'm very unlikely to remember doing so on the 23rd. Oh well!

#17 Posted by Niall_Sg1 (362 posts) -

@Generiko: Interesting at least it'll let me see how it is on the 360, I'd rather play it on the TV but I remember the GB guys saying the PC was the platform to play it on..

After being spoiled by the Humble Bundles and Steam sales, these Microsoft "sales" seem really weak.

edit:typo

I really want to play The Walking Dead, but the fact that Telltale didn't include an option for inverted controls makes it incredibly difficult to play.

Looks like Mark of the Ninja will be getting my money.

I just got it a few days ago on gamefly.com of all places for $10, I couldn't pass it up. I hope Dust is a good deal and that I don't forget about it over the holiday weekend.

Yeah seriously, but at least it's something I guess.

I'm currently replaying mass effect 2 and picked up a new copy of ME3 the other day so I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Leviathan and From Ashes DLC if they put it on sale. Do the right thing Microsoft marketing team!

#23 Posted by Napalm (9020 posts) -

These deals seem pretty alright.

I agree, but remember that console games have to be licensed to be put on the console in question and that must cost something. I doubt you could sell a $40 game for $8 and still make anywhere near the same kind of profit that could if you did that on Steam, for the reason mentioned in the last sentence and probably others. Maybe the pitiful "sales" aren't really so half-hearted after all.

#25 Posted by Fattony12000 (7582 posts) -

Oh, hello, Fez!

#26 Posted by Zacagawea (1616 posts) -

Mark of the Ninja will be mine

#27 Posted by Nilazz (639 posts) -

The Walking Dead is already super cheap, but the xbox 360 version is really the worst, if you can play it on any other platform, do it.

#28 Posted by Sparky_Buzzsaw (6405 posts) -

Wouldn't mind nabbing Simpsons Arcade, Dust, Joe Danger 2, and Hell Yeah. We'll see.

Have you actually given it a try? I always play with inverted controls and I got used to it incredibly quickly. It's really stupid that Telltale didn't provide the option, bu itt ended up being a total non-issue. It would be a shame for you to miss out on such a great game because of such a minor shortcoming.

#31 Posted by UitDeToekomst (750 posts) -

Rats. Most of what I would have any interest in I already bought. Might give Trials HD and Nuts & Bolts a shot, though.

There is literally one section in the whole series where it seemed to matter (in ep. 3) and apparently it was shitty even if you don't play inverted. Just get the game

Weird as it's on Steam and Australian iOS App Store.

The no R18+ releases applies to the Xbox Live Marketplace, apparently. Telltale had this to say waaaay back in April or something; "Sorry, but due to the OFLC ratings laws in Australia and New Zealand, and the fact that this is a mature game, we do not currently have plans to release the game there on consoles." (Kotaku link ). It technically shouldn't be allowed at all in Australia, but iOS and Steam have different classifications that make it a strange grey area related to our laws. Unfortunately I have no interest in playing on those two services, but that's just me being stubbon and preferring consoles, so I don't hold that against them.

Apparently they're planning to change the classifications early next year and giving us an R18+, but nothing in our government is running too smoothly at the moment so who knows.

EDIT: If you're interested, here's a post from the Telltale forums by "the producer" of the game giving some further explanation on it's absence down under; http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=603626&postcount=16

A lot of people seem to like Mark of the Ninja so I might pick that up. Trials Evolution DLC is pretty tempting too, played a lot of that game when it was released.

#35 Posted by Phatmac (5730 posts) -

Looking forward to getting Trails Evo during its' sale.

#36 Posted by ShadowMoses900 (190 posts) -

Good news for 360 owners, but I wish they would make XBL similar to PlayStation Plus.

#37 Posted by Lumley (964 posts) -

Deals are live! I've updated the OP

#38 Posted by Lavapotamus (199 posts) -

I don't check NeoGAF, so thank you for posting this here. I've been wanting to pick up The Mark of the Ninja and Dust, so this is perfect. Might go for Hell Yeah and Street Fighter III, too, if the prices are right.

#39 Posted by Lumley (964 posts) -

Guys, todays deals are rather damn good! Trine 2 for 400 points, Fez for 400 points and Mark of the Ninja for 600 poins!

#40 Posted by VierasTalo (940 posts) -

I would've been down with some 10 euro Rayman Origins, but I guess MS doesn't like us Europeans so it's still 25 here.

#41 Posted by Klei (1768 posts) -

Living in Canada, I have to pay with MS points to get shit from XBLive. Fuck that shit. I'm going to go cry in a corner and wait for the Steam sales.

#42 Posted by Rafaelfc (1470 posts) -

Got Rayman Origins for 10 bones, sale WORTH IT!

#43 Posted by Napalm (9020 posts) -

@Lumley: What are the prices for the 21st games? The page link doesn't go to anything.

#44 Posted by MiamiRedHawks (914 posts) -

@Lumley: Thanks for letting everyone know about this! I have been busy and didn't realize that the sale was going on. Getting Mark of the Ninja for 600 points seems like a steal. I can't wait to play it!

#45 Edited by KaneRobot (1856 posts) -

Mark of the Ninja. Buy it or I'll kill you, silently. From the shadows.

This sale has some pretty damn good stuff. Probably going ot grab Rayman Origins and Bully for 10 bucks each. Already bought Jet Set Radio for 5 bucks, which is what that should have been to begin with. Will later get the Walking Dead 2-5.

#46 Posted by Bumpton (460 posts) -

Sonuva...

I just bought Mark of the Ninja yesterday! Why didn't I see this thread then!??!

#47 Posted by KittyVonDoom (445 posts) -

Of all the games on that list, I recommend Zuma's Revenge the most!

#48 Posted by Lumley (964 posts) -

@Napalm: The pages and prices don't seem to go up until the day they are on sale. However, the NeoGaf page did have details about tomorrows prices so I've updated the OP with them. (Spoiler: They're not very good)

Yeah I just bought The Walking Dead Ep 1 like 2 days before it was announced to be free on 12/25-12/31. It happens.

cheapassgamer.com had the full list up over a week ago, that's usually a good place to keep an eye out for upcoming sales.

#50 Posted by Tylea002 (2295 posts) -

The UK gets screwed on the Rayman Origins deal, it's £19.99 over here on sale, which is $32.52 USD.
