I'm really bummed, I never actually bought this game but kept playing halo2 untill halo 3 came out. Now that I have it, wow. It's almost unplayable, the controls are sooo rough! What should I do? Keep it, ebay it? What?
Do I just need to give it more time? Will this game open up? I loved the n64 version.

My sister gave me Perfect Dark Zero for my B-day... So... dated!
When I read the title I assumed you were so grateful for the gift you started dating your sister, and to be frank I'm still not ruling that out as a possibilty.
" Shelf it. Not worth even selling it. "Heh so true, this game was good until everyone realized COD2 was god at the time.
" When I read the title I assumed you were so grateful for the gift you started dating your sister, and to be frank I'm still not ruling that out as a possibilty. "Haha that made me spill my drink!
I bought the Limited Edition version for $15, and never played it again after the first level. The aiming is just so awful. Still, it's a gift, so keep it and try to make the best of it. Oh, and ha, some guy said you could milk it for achievements. Well, good luck with that. Beating the campaign will get you one single achievement, pretty much all the rest are done online and require quite a bit of playtime, which may or may not be difficult now that the game is probably dead online.
I played it for the first time a few months ago because it was one of the titles use to promote the system before launch, and wanted to see what it actually was, and it was cheap. I ended up having a lot of fun with it because me and my best friend co-op'd the entire campaign over two sittings and played a lot of the, bot filled, multiplayer cooperativly. The controls are incredibly rough but if your the kind of person who can play many similer games, for example be playing a couple fps's with slightly diffrent control schemes or "feels", without losing "skill" then it might be worth giving it a shot over a boring weekend or co-op'ing it with a friend localy.
" Dude, your sister gave it to you for your birthday. You fucking keep it man, in a visible place as well. "
Picked this up recently for cheap and actually finding it quite enjoyable - it's nothing particularly amazing but that's not to say you won't have a good time playing it.
Get your sister to play it co-op - it's good fun and she'll enjoy sharing the gift with you.
Make sure you change your controls to 'Standard' or whatever, rather than PD Classic - so it's not all weird.
To me the game is defined by two things.
Shit tons of parallax mapped surfaces
Controls that never ever feel right
If you can get past the fact that the controls are some of the worst in FPS history, and the game feels really janky because it was rushed, it's kind of a neat game.
It's not as bad as everyone says. Try not to compare it to the N64 version, as that was God. It's a different game.
Just change the control type to your liking, and give it another chance maybe.
And don't date your sister thats creepy. ; ) Just fooling... haha the title got me thinking strange.
" that game is SWEET, other than the shitty controls and broken online. "Haha that made me laugh.
" Dude, your sister gave it to you for your birthday. You fucking keep it man, in a visible place as well. "My sister is 28 and lives in Canada.
" @Zero_ said:And then when she decides to come over "Oh, hey Jack_Daniels (yeah, I'm going to assume she calls you that) how's that game I got you for your birthday going? Hope you enjoyed it, hey let's fire it up and play together! ^_^"" Dude, your sister gave it to you for your birthday. You fucking keep it man, in a visible place as well. "My sister is 28 and lives in Canada. "
