Yeah!  I got selected to preview the new dashboard.  After playing around with it for like 10 min, I really like it.  The dashboard and guide seem to be faster, love the user review stuff for marketplace, and sorting your friends list.  I also like the Gold Veterans thing.  It shows how many years you have been a subscriber to Xbox Live.  It shows 2 for me so, I have been a subscriber for 2 years.  Another neat addition is that it shows you how many games you have gotten all the achievements in (both arcade and retail games.)  It shows only 8, which is sad since I have played a crap ton of games.  Something I really don't care for is the avatar marketplace.  There is some neat stuff but, it's far to expensive.  I would rather get something else then pay for something for my avatar.  I can't check out all the new Netflix stuff because, I'm not a subscriber.  The avatar awards stuff is going to be neat when they start doing it.  There is also the new "Solutions" tab under "My Xbox."  It gives you some tips about NAT ploblems, Xbox Live Statues, and some other stuff.  Well, so far I enjoy it and I took some pictures of it.  Anyone else get selected for it?  P.S.  I'm the first person to give Superman Returns 1 star.  w00t!  P.S.S.  For the TV Shows picture, I seen there was nothing there for some reason.  Just thought it would be kinda funny to take a picture of it.

That looks pretty spiffy. Not gonna lie.

The only gripe I have is with the Veteran's thing. Mine says I've been a member for one year but really I've been a member since launch. I've had my current XBOX for a year because of RROD but my GT has been around since launch. I guess it goes by your console and not by your account, although this may change since it's a preview and has to be linked to your system serial number. It's no big deal though. Aside from that it's a good update, it's faster for sure. I bought some pants with a few extra MS points I had in the Avatar Marketplace, that's about it.

Yep I'm a sucker! I  purchased  the Halo garb in the avatar marketplace.  Overall I'm liking the update.

I got selected as well! It kicked me out of my horrible CoD4 game last night to install it and I really like what I've seen so far. It feels cool having it before everyone else.

Has anyone figured out how to search for movies in netflix? I thought it was going to let me just go pick out movies with out going to my computer. If it does they don't make it easy to find/

man, i hope that the outfits come down in price - 240MSP for an outfit? No thanks, I'd rather buy some Rock Band tracks.

What's the point of Avatars? You hardly seem to use them at all except for a couple of XBLA games and viewing them on your Dashboard (although I mostly just use the Guide button to check my friends list), so I fail to see why ~240MSP is a worthy spend

from those pictures it seems like some cool things. i don't really use any of those things though. i don't care to much about my avatar. it is nice to know that it is faster. i don't care to much i didn't think it was all that slow in the first place.

I didn't bother to sign up for the update, though I would've liked to. (I'm just lazy.)
Overall what you guys have shown me seems good, but nothing groundbreaking, which is actually kind of nice when you think about it.

Sounds cool, hoping I won't fall into the avatar clothing trap, but I know I'll find myself with 80 points burning a hole in my digital pocket when I load 'er up on the 11th. 

Btw, have you messed with the nebulous "display discovery" yet?  MS's description all the big sites are pushing is really vague...

edit: read on teamxbox they also added new resolutions for monitors with the 16:10 aspect ratio as well.  I'm rocking a 22" crt still, hope they will add 1600x1200 support for us cag's someday...
