Shoot tons of un-dead enemies with two joysticks, and plenty of fire power, from an overhead perspective in this downloadable game from Konami.

Zombie Apocalypse is another addition to the ubiquitous dual joystick shooter library. The concept is four survivors fight through 55 waves of an increasingly difficult to defeat undead. There's actually only seven levels, but the game merely cycles the same levels over and over. With the arenas not having individual flavor, this is one of the most harmful aspects to Zombie Apocalypse. However, it isn't the only reason this game is bad.

Each survivor is equipped with a standard automatic rifle, a not-so-effective chainsaw, and a teddy bear for zombie bait. The environment randomly spites out more effective means of zombie genocide like rocket launchers, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, and so on. The irritating thing is, the game doesn't immediately respond to you picking up new weapons. I found myself on several occasions running over weapons several times just to pick them up.

At many times I also found myself randomly dying. There's a lot of exploding zombies, knife throwing zombies, and other damned foes which make the screen just looks like a mess all the time and at no point does the camera angle allow you to judge distance. This causes a lot of issues with you dying because something got you from behind, or the exploding zombie caught you in their suicidal attack. The mechanics don't communicate with the player in every-way imaginable.

Zombie Apocalypse is fun for about 30 minutes. After you've seen the seven levels recycles twice and witnessed all the decent humor, the game gets tedious and boring. The fact Zombie Apocalypse doesn't have the intensity or speed of other games in the genre doesn't help either. The game does serve for some good couch multiplayer, but I wouldn't recommend buying this game at full price. I managed to snag this title for a $5 Deal of the Week promotion. There's better zombie games and co-op dual joystick shooters. If you want to burn two hours with some friends, you can do worse.

Comprehensive review. Was thinking about picking this up because I am a fan of dual joystick shooters and loved the "Hunter: The Reckoning" series and have yet to see another one as awesome as the one on the original Xbox that was the "Redeemer" but it seems that this one is missing all the stuff that I loved about the other series. Just wish there was something to replace that hole in my life. D:

Zombie Apocalypose it's a good game. To start this off, I want to point out that I think this game launched with a perfect timing. Why? First, Left 4 Dead fans are waiting for it's DLC and sequel, so something related to it -very similar characters-     seems a good buy to ease the urges. Second, Zombieland is out in theaters, and honestly the carnival level is very, very similiar to the last scenes of the movie, so the movie fans looking for some zombie massacre can get their fix here. And thi...

This game has no soul, in a bad way 0

Zombie Apocalypse feels like a game designed by committee to touch all the bases that a group of investors might think are important to gamers. As a downloadable title it should obviously play like a twin stick shooter but without all those annoying colors and shapes like in Geometry Wars. Zombies are still hot right? It should have lots of gore. It should have the same guns that those really successful action games have. And like those popular MMO's, it should include some amount of dancing. P...
