Whats the most souls you have lost at once? I am about an hour and a half in with my level 7 Warrior build and i just beat the Taurus Demon, had close to 8,000 souls and i got roasted by the dragon on the bridge, worst part about it was that i knew it was there and just forgot that it first flames from the back position, i was expecting the first blast to come from the front... uhg and i contemplated just goin back and leveling up first before heading that way...
Dark Souls
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Sep 22, 2011
A quasi-sequel to From Software's action-RPG Demon's Souls, set in a new universe while retaining most of the basic gameplay and the high level of challenge. It features a less-linear world, a new checkpoint system in the form of bonfires, and the unique Humanity system.
Largest number of souls you have lost?
None yet (none that I haven't picked up afterwards anyway), but in Demon's Souls I lost 12000+ souls; after defeating the flamelurker I decided that going back to spend my souls is too big of a hassle and I just decided to walk to the next checkpoint...
And hey, there was a giant fucking dragon who punched me to death.
Lost 12000 and 4 humanities when I by accident rolled off the bridge just after the bonfire in Undead Burg twice.
Around 8k I think, I went 2h to clear a few dudes so I could get my souls back quick but they proceeded to clear me.
Ouch, lesson learned.

I lost 20,000 souls in Sen's Fortress.
This... I got all the way through the fortress with all those souls, then died at the top, then died on the way there... typical story, I was only bummed for a few minutes though. After Demon's Souls you just get used to losing souls like that.
I just lost 12,000 this morning. Made my way down the Great Hollow and got died while heading for the Ash Lake bonfire. As I was making my way down the Great Hollow, I fell down to my death.
I don't think I was supposed to be down there right now, though. Everything was taking a long time to kill.
I lost about 10,000 and 11 humanity in Sen's fortress. The mimic killed me and then I fucked up and died on the first two lizards at the entrance. Worth it for the lightning spear though, that thing owns.
I haven't suffered a huge loss yet, but in Demon's Souls I took a hit around 40-50k. A long break was taken after that.
Hmm...something like 20k for DkSouls.
However, losing about 100k in Demon's Souls almost made me cry. Then I farmed the reaper, and didn't give a shit.

I lost about 17k in Sen's Fortress. Not really the end of the world, but it was still unfortunate.
like 25,000 after the false king soul sucked me... so I didnt feel bad doing the rotting arrow cheap way to kill him later.
I would have torn my spleen out.100k and 9 humanity while grinding Anor Londo.
I wanted to get absolved for breaking a covenant, and I needed some 110k souls to do so. After I lost em, I just gave up on it.
Around 40k in the second part of the forest. Killed all the guys who drop 1-3k souls and then got surrounded by tree dudes and one of them grabbed me.

I'm totally going to cry about it when I play this and lose souls :(
Wait until the game totally screws you over.
I had a relatively small amount of souls compared to everyone else here, but it's early on and I don't have any good shit yet so every soul counts. Also worth mentioning that I had 3 humanity. Then I get to the bridge. No biggie, I know about the Dragon. I avoid his initial attack and wait for him to get in position. I book the fuck out of it. I run like a motherfucker. Run. Run run run. I get to the stairs and all of the sudden there's fire everywhere even though the Dragon never moved. I had no indication on when the attack was going to start. It just happened without moving him. So, my souls are right there at the stairs and I've got no idea how to get there without dying instantly.
Pretty sure I'm fuckaducked.

Sounds rough, dude. If you do lose all your souls, will you give up?
The most I've lost at once is 33k, I had just defeated Gaping Dragon and got murdered twice on the way to the swamp.
I was farming Quelaag and had about 100k souls. I was human almost my entire time playing but had only been invaded once. After i got out of a battle i got invaded and got killed thanks to the rock throwing giants.. On my way back i ressed and turned human (Like a dumbass) and got invaded by the same person and was killed thanks to the sludge water.. Was the closest I have ever been to breaking a game in half.
8000. Was not expecting that stupid NPC phantom Kirk to appear while I was sneaking up on a basilisk. I got gassed and cursed while defending myself. Died a second time when trying to reach my bloodstain so I could get enough souls to un-curse myself.
I probably wouldn't have messed up the fight so badly if I realized at the time it was just an AI controlled phantom. Somehow I play much worse whenever I think it's an actual person controlling the phantom. Suffice to say, I hate invasions.
But 8000 isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things. I know that later in the game, those numbers are easy to come by.
56,000... sigh. On the stupid Great Grey Wolf Sif... I was farming the area, fought the said giant wolf, died. Went back to fight the boss/get souls back and forgot about the invisible bandit and he backstabbed me and killed me in one hit. I almost cried.
I think the most I've lost in this was around 7000+ Souls & 5 Humanities for this game. I've lost around 50,000 altogether Im pretty sure.
But back in Demon's Souls, I lost 100K souls in a NG+1 & i'm nowhere near the easy grind spot on that playthrough. D=
I've been good about not dying with a ton of souls in this game, if I think I'm going to be killed I spend them first.
I lost 17000+ and 6 humanities when I fell into an unseen shaft in the Depths. Got cursed, too. A couple of minutes later my upstairs neighbor came downstairs and knocked on the door. "Is everything okay in there? I heard screaming, and I just want to make sure you're okay."
