What Brad said about Dark Souls vs Sekiro here is exactly why I don't like Sekiro or Bloodborne that much and I absolutely love the Souls games. There's so many options for building out your character in Souls from the 100s of weapons to all the different magic types. Those things give the Souls games so much depth and replayability.

I hope no one gets suckered into buying a konami pc. God why are they so terrible.

I love baseball. So much crazy-ass shit can happen in it, it's just most of the time that stuff isn't happening. Living in the Seattle area I have to take the conceptual spiritual entertainment from the sport since we'll never have any actual accomplishments to focus on.

My preferred virtual sport is still Blood Bowl.

I beat and enjoyed Bloodborne but absolutely adored Sekiro. Having to pick between a bunch of different stat points is just bloat to me, and I appreciated the lazer focus of Sekiro.

I worked on that Teen Titans flash game! I remember having to redraw all of Cyborg's sprites at the last second since he was asymmetrical. I also designed two others that were downloadable. Holy shit, I'm old.

While not a GRID game per-se there is a great dog companion on your team in Persona 3

Fall Guys didn't get review bombed at all, the dev is just exaggerating so more people talk about the game. Most negative reviews talk about how shallow the game is and the lack of content for early-game.

I would 100% watch more Monster Hunter videos from the Giant Bomb crew. Please consider doing something with it. =D

When the Fall Guys dev tweeted about the game getting review bombed on Steam, it had 2.5x more positive reviews than negative ones, and most of the negative reviews criticised the perceived value vs content of the game. Doesn't sound like bombing to me.

@janman@benpack@brad If you're looking for a fun way to do something with Dota 2, may I suggest the current summer event Aghanim’s Labyrinth. In case you've not seen it yet, it's a 4 player cooperative roguelite dungeon crawler(?) with Dota characters. They've done some really neat stuff with the mode, such as gaining unique character specific boons between encounters and an in-between games tallent tree.

None of that toxic competitive stuff that the MOBA genre often is plagued with. Just some cooperative and challenging fun with friends. I bet it could be a fun feature to have on the site.

Sometimes it feels like anything negative that affects a lot of people causing them to press thumbs down on the game's Steam page is labelled as a coordinated review bomb to spite the developers. I think it's totally understandable if lots of people leave a negative review because of launch day server connectivity issues. I mean, personally I'd change my review once it gets sorted out but calling it a review bomb seems a stretch.

That makes sense. I'm having fun with the game because I got it for free on PS+, but it's definitely not worth $20. It's a pretty bare-bones mini game collection with about a dozen mini games as far as I can tell. There's just the one game mode and no local multiplayer. It still feels unfinished.

Sure have been dropping the ball on premium audio podcast uploads the last couple weeks....

Sure, it's a fun cooperative mode. Because you don't have to worry about an opposing team pushing towards a base, you can stop and plan between encounters. Of course being familiar with Dota is very beneficial since the heroes and items available are from the regular mode. But it's not impossible to play and learn without that knowledge.

It was already established in Paper Jam that Paper Mario is from a story book in the real Mario universe.

Sometimes I just wish this site would ban discussion on air about Hollow Knight. Every time they do they rehash the same complaints that are essentially asking the game to be something that it is not trying to be.

Oh man, I spent way too much time on Candystand. I agree that pool was great, but I also dug Life Savers mini-golf. It was busted and frustrating at times, but it kept me coming back. The other mini-golf game was hot crap, though.

What is this “blazeball” they are talking about watching? Is their a league of the outdoor game, a video game? Please help me as I’m not really into social media.

@sinkwater: What exactly are you expecting for $20? That’s really cheap as far as brand new games go. Yes it’s a bunch of mini games but the whole point of it is that it’s a battle royale of mini games. There’s a ton of different games (edit: 25, definitely more than a dozen) that they throw at you and the replayability lies in trying to get that crown.

Anyways I think the game is a ton of fun. It’s fun solo and even more fun with a group of friends. I would easily drop $20 on this if I didn’t already get it free with PS+.

Maybe it’s not your jam but to call it barebones and unfinished is way off of the mark.

My first broadband internet was through Charter. The dude that came to set it up was pretty fucking cool. We shot the shit talking about tech and video games.

I live in Canada, and I have to emphasize, I paid $399 Canadian bucks for my PS4 on launch day. Our currency has devalued so much that $399 US is now $530 Cdn. If PS5 is $599, it would be $799 Cdn. (My prediction is $499 US = $650-700 Cdn)

(And, I love pointing out that games were $60 in 2013, but by like 2015 or 2016, they became $80. I really hope the price of games doesn't increase, or else I could be looking at $90-100 per game)

I think the thing that would make the Duel Shock 4 not compatible with PS5 games would be the lack of "adaptive triggers," which I think is meant to actually change resistance on the fly. Neat in concept but boy does that sound like a possible sixaxis nothingburger waiting to happen, since that's extra work to add it to third party games.

Also, my wrists and hands are not great, and I wind up turning off vibration in most games, so I hope the ps5 let's you turn off or adjust the adaptive triggers for accessibility reasons.
