Jan, as a fan of both Sekiro and Monster Hunter World, I'll let you know what you're in for with both:

Sekiro

Pros: Very high highs, cool abilities and mobility, amazing world

Cons: Very low lows, like that movie where JK Simmons screams at a kid until the kid plays drums good

Monster Hunter World:

Pros: Cat friend, great weapon variety, impressive monsters that are fun to hunt with friends

Cons: Late game material RNG, awkward multiplayer system, doesn't have a definite end like Bloodborne or Sekiro

Would love to see you play either, or something else, you're killing it!

I had seen a couple of people mention blaseball, but had no idea what it was. It's actually a neat little thing. I usually think the stuff that catches on like this are dumb, but this one isn't. It's not super deep, but it's not bad to have a passive thing you check in on every now and then.

They explain it well enough in the podcast. It's a fake betting site (using fake money) with fake baseball teams playing fake simulated games in a fake league. There aren't even any graphics associated with it; it's just text.

It's ok, Brad - Abby doesn't understand like 97% of references that people make. It's basically a meme at this point that she asks "who/what is that" when someone mentions a thing.

It was always “F” to pay respects. I distinctly remember at the time when that game first came out finding it really weird that the keyboard prompt is what became the meme instead of a console prompt.

Jan’s story of his spin class instructor/motivational speaker/fitness streamer guy is one of the funniest anecdotes I’ve heard this year.

I can see why the map system in Hollow Knight would turn off some people and I was on that camp at first but getting lost for a while gives off a feeling of uncertainty which leads one to be cautious instead of powering through corridors. It subverts one's expectations of most Metroidvania games where you can dispose trash mobs with ease. Finding the map person is a reward in and of itself for braving the unknown depths. Finding a bench is lighting a bonfire.

I do not know how Team Cherry would make Silksong more appealing to Ben without sacrificing their core design philosophy but what do I know? I'm just a guy.
