Overview
Skarlet is an Outworldian mage in the Mortal Kombat series, introduced in the series' alternate timeline with the 2011 Mortal Kombat. Master of the deadly art of Blood Magik and bound to the Blood Code, she is a mutated experiment formed using the blood of countless warriors and willingly serves the Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn.
While she was formally introduced in the 2011 game, she was originally rumored to be a hidden character in the 1993 game Mortal Kombat II as a fourth palette-swapped variation of the female ninjas Kitana, Mileena, and Jade. Similar to the Ermac rumor from the same game, this rumor was born out of a rare color palette glitch where Kitana was shown with red attire (a glitch that Ed Boon later claimed was itself a hoax).
Story
Skarlet is one of Shao Kahn's creations, made by the blood of various warriors and fused together with dark magic. Shao Kahn assigns Skarlet the task of secretly spying on Quan Chi to uncover his true intentions in the Mortal Kombat Tournament and if there is any plot against him.
Skarlet appears throughout the Story Mode but only as a background character with no dialogue or any character interactions.
