Just saw an article on gamespot announcing Catwoman as a fully playable character in Arkham City.
Don't get me wrong I loved Arkham Asylum but was going to wait for some sort of Steam sale for AC just like I did with AA.
This is quickly becoming a day 1 purchase.

When Gotham City's slums have been transformed into a secluded super-prison, it's up to Batman to uncover its conspiracy in the sequel to 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Catwoman announced as new playable character.
Interview:
My first thought is that it is a bad idea. Then I think about how amazing Rocksteady did with the first game and realize they will probably pull this off just fine, so I'm excited.
Hell to the Yeah!!! My most anticipated title of the Fall. I hope they make a killer CE of this game unlike that shitty batarang they did.
Mixed feelings. I'm all for solo Batman stuff, but extra content like this can't be a bad thing as long as it's not forced on the player, and Rocksteady has earned my trust after AA.
She's got some slick moves.
If you could chose either Batman or Catwoman and play through the campaign, I'd be up for it. If it switches between the two, not so much.
Looks as though you'll be switching back and forth:
"Ginn noted that while you'll only play as Catwoman for a tiny portion of the main story, she'll have her own mini progression path that will let you upgrade her moves and gadgets using experience earned from taking out enemies. In addition players will be able to use her to explore the environment and snag unique Riddler trophies only she can reach."
I love that ass
wait, we're not talking about the ass.
Ok, yeah, sorry, um, yeah playing as Catwoman sounds terrific
I am stoked since she is one of my all-time favorite "heroes". I read somewhere yesterday in a hands-on preview that you will need to play as Catwoman in parts of the game, but not an obtrusive amount (maybe 10%) since Batman is still the main focus, however you can take breaks and do optional Catwoman missions to explore other areas and steal stuff. What they said was that she played a lot like Batman although with more acrobatics and flair. Her unique moves were a ceiling crawl and use of bolas, caltrops and her whip. She also has her own special enhanced sense feature similar but different than Batman's detective vision.
Not a big fan of IGN's Rewind theater thing, but they say some things that would explain how the Catwoman part plays out.
They made playing as the Joker different enough from Batman very fun, I'm interested to see how they pull it off with Catwoman.
Awesome news, this is definitely the biggest contender for my GOTY along with Mortal Kombat... can't wait!
Yup, could be awesome. Not could be, kinda cool, I first thought robin but then it's like if they were to bring robin it'd have to be Jason Todd to fit with the themes of AC and he has to be brought back to life in the game to work. because Jason Todd is kinda more serious then a boy dress up as a target, also Catwoman is going to be awesome even if she mainly use for sex-appeal.
@televisionomy: I'll reserve from passing judgment on how well it's actually integrated into the game until the game is finally out.Yeah, but hopefully the hype isn't wasted.
