Will re-opening the gates of Arkham be a good idea?

    Synopsis

Once again is Arkham City in trouble, they newly widow Harley Quinn Is not too fond of Bat-brains shenanigans and decide to take a few cops hostage. Batman Investigates, disappears and Robin is called in for backup.

    Review

While firing this up I was having flashbacks of how awesome Arkham City was and getting ready to kick some ass with Robin. The opening gets you in the right mood, a disappearance of our hero makes it all feel like something big is going on, and the way the portrait Robis is excellent. Not some whiny ass kid but a younger and slightly less confident vigilante. Harley Quinn is (and I'm probably one of the very few who think this way) a really cool character, a real Batman-universe nut.

A few minutes in you are fighting, sneaking and using gadgets like you loved before. Problem is, this is ALL you do. The gadgets are the same (except a shield, which was introduced with the Robin challenge pack). The enemies are the same. Everything is the same. The story also falls really flat, with a build up that gets you going for about 10 minutes, And that's a third of the whole DLC.

    Final Thoughts

I finished Harley Quinns Revenge with a feeling of accomplishing nothing. The gameplay of Arkham Asylum really holds up well and the combat and stealth is still really enjoyable, but this DLC brings nothing new to table. Will you have fun while playing this? sure, If you liked The original game, Although you would probably have as much fun finishing those side missions you never completed.

Following in the footsteps of it's predecessor, Batman: Arkham City stood up as one of the most enjoyable action-adventure games of recent years, and arguably the best Batman game we’ve seen. With it’s fantastically empowering combat system, impressive array of gadgets, and great presentation of its world and characters, anything coming after had a hell of an act to follow. Unfortunately, Harley Quinn’s Revenge just doesn’t reach anywhere near the bar set by the main game, and comes off as littl...

Harley Quinn's Revenge is fun, but weak in a narrative sense. 0

A highly anticipated add-on to Batman: Arkham City, Harley Quinn's Revenge is going to be held up to some high standards. Unfortunately, in terms of both gameplay and narrative, it doesn't meet them.Anyone who's played the base game knows that Arkham City is a Batman experience to be remembered. Throughout the game there's a very well-crafted sense of progression not only in terms of the story, but Batman's capabilities and the similarly escalating threats he has to face along the way. Harley Qu...
