Co-Op survival horror at its craziest.

Following up my playthrough of Dead Space 3 with Jean-Luc, we dove right into the Awakened DLC. Right away we had more fantastic dialogue between Isaac and Carver, and following the climactic ending of the main game the characters are quite out of sorts, leading to some fantastic and humorous situations.

The plot continues on with the hopeless and manic atmosphere of Dead Space 3, as Isaac and Carver attempt to rush back to earth to warn the human race of an impending cataclysm. As they make their way back up through the Unitologist fleet, Isaac and Carver are plagued by mind-crushing hallucinations that make them doubt the world around them (which is crazy enough to begin with) and begin to wonder if their partner can be trusted, eventually culminating to a shootout between the two. This is basically a paired hallucination, and I would have been interested to see Visceral explore other options.

Awakened was fairly brief, but it was a great over-the-top followup to the absurd conclusion of the main game, and I highly recommend playing it after finishing 3. Never has a game ended so ridiculously hopelessly.
