I hope so too, but atleast with Sony's DRM, disc based games hopefully won't be required to install the entire game to the harddrive and therefore won't be full after ~12 games like the Xbox One.

$550 will be the RRP in Australia, apparently. I'm sure everyone in Australia is utterly stunned by this.

Why so stunned? I lived in New Zealand during the 360 launch and I remember it launching at something similarly ridiculous. On the bright side, the country was fuckin' gorgeous in every way, unfortunately Video Games were hell of expensive. Living on isolated islands has it's pros and cons, I guess.

The thing is the camera's not really necessary for any of its functions while with the X1 you cant even start the console until Kinects on. And PS+ when compared to Xbox Live is better in a lot of ways, plys its cheaper.

Edit: Just to be clear PS+ isnt required, its just required for online games.

@naru_joe93: Well, it's all speculation ofc, but I think you're under-estimating how highly both EA and MS value Titanfall =) I mean, MS made it the showstopper surprise rather than Halo. That says something.

I was thoroughly impressed by what Sony showed. That 399 price point is massive for them, and it seems like they pleased the gaming hardcore with the announcement regarding used games and always online. Although I'm still interested to hear the full details on what their plans on DRM are. As far as games are concerned those indie games looked fantastic, but since they are self-published they will probably come to PC as well. The "big games" looked great, but I'm not really interested in any one of them. And PS+ continues to be a fantastic deal.

All and all I think that Sony had a fantastic show, even though I was hoping for some more exclusive titles on their end. At this point I've pre-ordered both systems, but I will still likely not be picking up the PS4 at launch unless some of the exclusive titles like Knack or Injustice peak my interest. I'm sure that Sony will produce those exclusives at some point though and this will become a two-console household.

Gamespot makes it seem as if the SONY conference is yet to come, and no where else is working! The Ubisoft one works on GS though.

I really wanted Microsoft to do well as I greatly enjoyed my 360 this generation and kind of let the Playstation 3 fall to the side. Naturally I'm pretty attached to my GamerTag and all that. But Sony did make a pretty good presentation and offers a lot of freedoms.

Also it's like a whole $100 cheaper, dood.

Architecturally, it would seem that swapping out the HDD will be more difficult on the PS4 than on the PS3, but still.....that's good news for some folks.

Well I'm not that guy but I can only assume it will not get released around the world simultaneously and since it is region free you can just buy it overseas and play it wherever you live without having to wait until it is available in your country.

The only thing I hope is that this launches with some serious third party controllers(that fix the shoulder buttons). While Sony has completely won me over(been x360 all this generation) their controllers are fucking terrible and adding a damn screen in the center certainly doesn't look like it helped anything.

So I'm better off just getting out of someone on Ebay, it may or may not be taxed coming in, but even if it is it will be less than this amazon import fee deposit, getting on stores in here will be a definite no go, it will be like 2/2.5k BRL which is like 1/1.2k USD, it's fucking ridiculous... can't blame resellers though, they also have to comply with all the stupid fees plus they gotta get theirs of course.
