I'm royally pissed.

Looks like Obama ended up destroying McCain with 7 million more votes in the Popular vote and a 349 - 163 in the electoral college (waiting on MO and NC). Just makes me laugh how people were freaking out, thinking McCain would pull off the upset after about 15 mins into the process last night...and people also though McCain may pull out the popular vote too. Good times :P

As for this whole "landslide" thing:  electorals were, yes, a "landslide"...but then again, you don't really get to control the amount of electorals are in each state, now do ya?  SOOO...I wouldn't base a landslide off of electorals.

And if you go by the pop vote, there was no landslide to that.

Therefore, I would say what most Americans would say:  this was a very close battle.

And if you say otherwise...then you are no better than someone claiming that PS3 is the best console over 360...or that 360 is the best over PS3...or that Wii is the best over both...or anything else.

And a lot of shit that I've seen in this thread makes me regret that some of you are of voting age, because the immaturity you showed in your "celebrations" and "responses" will cause the future of this country to flounder and fail.

I'm so damn happy. I watched every second of the election in Manhattan and my brother works for Obama's campaign so we were inside the election night party there. I've never seen anyone able to bring total strangers together under a united banner like Barack Obama, that is executive experience. That is how you lead the nation, that's how you lead the world. God bless America, this is the greatest country in the world.

Agree to disagree here. Our country was on the brink of disaster and not only did FDR rescue our country, but he allowed us to prosper immensley under the peace he brought us. Washington did what he could do, FDR accomplished a seemingly impossible feat and our country survived because of him."

Well, you have to remember that much of the country's salvation can be attributed to the second world war. It created jobs, united the nation, and gave Americans pride again. Yes, his handling of the war and the depression were good, and many of his programs were great, but social security is doomed."

But I do get your respect for George Washington and you would have to be a fool not to. It is a shame the later leaders of this nation did not adhere to George Washington's militarily isolationist philosophies, our country would be in a much greater place had we maintained diplomatic neutrality. He was a brilliant man and we are here today because of him.

Dude George Washington's greatness can be attributed to the committee he elected under him Hamilton, etc.

FDR was the man. That bill he passed which basically made all Japanese citizens count as enemy combatants was badass.
