maybe this is a small question for a whole thread but whatever.  
im wondering, i see an auto-save file when i went to load.  
last night i had to run to the store while i was playing and there was no save points around and i was in the middle of a boss fight and my last save was like 2 hours back.  
soo i left my ps3 on pause for like an half an hour  so i wouldnt lose my place in the game when i came back.  
but i see this auto-save file.  
is it automatically saving the game at check points even though i didnt purposely go up to a yellow spotlight save point?

Yep, it saves at checkpoints.
 
Of course, you can only have one auto-save, and loads of regular saves, so it's still worth saving with the save point.
