    Hunger

    Concept »

Some video games utilize a system that has the player occasionally consuming food items to keep their hunger under control. Ignoring it can result in decreased stamina, or in some cases, death of the player's character and a "Game Over" screen.

    Short summary describing this concept.

    Overview

Hunger is the mother of invention. Battling it is one the reason people do anything. So to enhance realism, many games add hunger as a gameplay mechanic. If the player gets too hungry, he/she will die (see The Sims). In others, hunger is used to determine happiness. If the character gets too hungry, They will get upset (see Roller Coaster Tycoon). In others hunger used to loss/gain weight (See Grand Theft Auto)
