if its a co-op MP like Gears3 Horde mode I won't find it THAT offensive

Mass Effect 3 - Multiplayer Reveal
I didn`t want to believe it at first, but Im more and more convinced that they`ll pull a Dragon Age 2 on this motherfucker.Ditto. To be fair, there's still a lot we don't know, but damn...I don't like where this is heading.

Spin-offs are fine (and are almost sure to happen), but Shepard's tale ends with the core games motherfuckers.

Kinect was the prelude to this. They've turned their backs on the people that supported them. I have no high hopes for this game.
No, it's probably going to be entertaining as hell.I'm going to have to avoid this thread for a while aren't I.
I am now very worried about Mass Effect 3. While I have faith in Bioware and will reserve judgement on multiplayer additions till we get more details on them, this is definitely a turn that concerns me.

Nope, that video pretty much sums up my opinion on the subject.
Yup. It's ridiculous that people still get pissed off about the inclusion of multiplayer when it's consistently proven it has literally nothing to do with the quality of the singleplayer... like at all.I AM SO OUTRAGED. MULTIPLAYER TOTALLY RUINED DEAD SPACE 2 IT WAS THE WORST GAME EVER BASED SOLELY ON THE ADDITION OF MULTIPLAYER.
I hate everyone who thinks this is bad. Grow the fuck up.
It's always great to see tons of trust and benefit of the doubt built up by two phenomenal games tossed out the window when some whiney bitch gamers don't like an idea posted in a neogaf thread that isn't even confirmed.
Chill, duders.
There are few things I hate more than people who pass judgment on something based on little to no information and shitty assumptions. Chill the fuck out.

As long as it is a separate team of developers and not the ones that work on Mass Effect 3 than I will be ok with it.
I don't know if my premise is correct yet, but I totally fucking called it.
Even though the internet's love of hyperbole annoys me to no end, Mass Effect 3 is up there with Dead Space 2 in the "Does this really need to have multiplayer?" category. Will it be the utter and total ruination of Mass Effect 3 as we know it? No. At worst, it will be a pointless ancillary mode that stops being played after a month and screws everyone out of the full 1000 achievement points because it can. The game will be what the game will be, and any or all shortfalls that may or may not happen in regards to the single player shouldn't be blamed on the inclusion of multiplayer.
@Hailinel: Probably just to have that extra tick on the back of the box, of course it's silly to already assume that the MP will be shit before getting any solid info. AC: Brotherhood is an example of a game with an unexpected fun MP.

The only question I have is, "What's the point?" Mass Effect is not a franchise known for multiplayer. To insert a multiplayer component at this point would be akin to the altogether pointless multiplayer found in Metroid Prime 2.
Remember that for how expensive ME games are to make, they don't make a ton of money. Just like the Whiskey Media crew is constantly trying to find ways to still be awesome and yet make money, I'm sure the Bioware people are still trying to make this franchise successful.
someone post that "never" picture in this thread right stat now! and your micheal scott video sums up my feelings.
While brotherhood and dead space 2 are good examples of a singleplayer focused game having a really good multiplayer, i feel like this could go horribly wrong (and that there are fucking multiplayer achievements). probably the best sort of multiplayer would be you and 2 other people in a squad doing some missions together and/or a horde-type multiplayer, i think competitive would probably blow
y'know, i've seen alot of people complaining about how mass effect used to be a "deep" rpg but it didn't really seem particularly deep to me, it basically just had a kind of crappy inventory system and a few more skills to drop points into, or atleast, thats my basic recollection of the first game. This seems like it would almost be the same thing as the second mass effect except for a few changes as necessary for a sequel plus multiplayer of course.
I knew it, Mass Effect is officially dead now, at least for me... i just don't know what the fuck BioWare is thinking, can someone explain it to me....
How is the multiplayer not extremelly easy to accomplish? Just let the second player control an AI companion, done.
I don't see what all the fuss is, unless they try something drastic.
As long as it doesn't affect the quality of the single player experience, I don't have a problem with it.

Yes. It could go wrong. Much the same thought people had when they announced MP for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. It was two games in and there hadn't been any mp before, but it worked just fine and didn't mess up the main game.
People get so bloody worked up over something that obviously don't have ANYTHING to do with the main game. At the most, I suspect it comes as a DLC as a "you bought the game new! Here, have some multiplayer DLC!"-thing. And it's either a couple of custom co-op missions like they did with Splinter Cell Conviction, or it's a horde survival thing. Either way I think the idea of throwing biotics around with a couple of friends sounds pretty fun. They obviously want to experiment with the MP now that they have done so much of it with TOR.
So they're putting in co op shooting?
Who, the, fuck, cares.
Mass Effect is about story, if there's co op I want to experience a co op story, not have my cousin run around as a Krogan helping me carry out my story.
I won't be playing that mode, as the shooting in ME2 was quite horrible and if that's all its gonna offer, no thanks.
EA's up in Bio's ass a lil too much.
I don't even care if the multiplayer is good, it's not what I play Mass Effect for. It's the same situation as with Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood where the mp was fine but I had no interest in it whatsoever.
The only problem I have is that possible sp development time is being taken away which it might not be as good as it could have been.

I hate it so much when they add optional features, it's like im getting more value for me money!
This could be pretty awesome. When ME2 first came out I'd always see multiple friends playing it. If I could play through the campaign with friends and we all had dialog choice options like in The Old Republic, I'd be amped. It'd be nice if you had the option to be three Shepard (not realistic, but I've never played these games under the impression that they were realistic life sims and I value fun in games over anything else) in a party or if everyone who wasn't Shepard could have all of their skills/class applied to the NPCs. Even if it wasn't either of those, I'd still play it if it was co-op.
I'm not sure why so many people get so upset about adding multiplayer. I've never bought into the idea that adding multiplayer makes the single player campaign crap since it seems like every good/AAA dev can handle both aspects fine and you're never sure if a mediocre/bad dev's single player is balls because of multiplayer or because they are a meh/bad dev. BioWare is AAA so I've got no worries.
Plus, if the idea of playing games with other people bothers you so much, you can just ignore that mode and stick to singleplayer.
