The Premier is a car that appears in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, GTA IV, and the Episodes from Liberty City expansion disc. Across all three games, the Premier appears to be a four door sedan. However, it becomes less common during IV and Episodes from Liberty City - in San Andreas, the Premier was extremely common.
San Andreas
In Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, the Premier seems to have a heavy basis from the Chevrolet Caprice of the 1990s. This
would make sense owing to the fact that the Premier is the civilian model of the
Police Car and Taxi, and the Caprice was common in all three of these roles in real life.
The Premier is common across all locations in San Andreas, and is arguably one of the most well rounde d vehicles in the game. The Premier can endure a considerable beating, and can travel at surprisingly high speeds. The vehicle is rear wheel drive, and yet has above average handling, accelerat
ion and top speed. It is no surprise that the Premier is generally preferred over the bulkier
Elegant, and is described as being the best passenger vehicle in the game.
GTA IV
In Grand Theft Auto IV, the Premier has been heavily redesigned, and the performance has taken a con
siderable blow. Rather than being seen on almost every street corner, the newer Premier is most commonly seen in more affluent areas of
Liberty City, such as
Algonquin. In Liberty City, this vehicle sports a 'Declasse' badge, and appears to be based on J apanese vehicles. The engine of the Premier has potential, and brings it up to an acceptable top speed. Unfortunately, the body of the car is
extremely easy to deform, and the Premier can cease to become recognisable after a high speed collision. This makes the Premier a below average getaway car, but the speed means it can hold its own on straighter roads.
