I stopped short of a concocting a conspiracy to hold down PMNC enacted by an enraged Jeff having Popplio withdrawal symptoms, of course...
Nice to see that the Rorie streams will be archived here from now on (does saying it make it so*...?) I don't play Magic or any other multiplayer card game like it (I do dabble in single-player card games) but they are always easy background watching for when I'm doing work.
It does seem as if MTGA could perhaps benefit from a more decipherable colour scheme or bigger/clearer number indicators. It's all a bit bland and samey. With Hearthstone et al, it's rather easy to eye what's going on - even in a minimised screen and with a small amount of attention. When I was watching this the other day, I was actually quite distracted because of the lack of numbers popping out. I had to really focus for longer than I wanted to (no offence intended!) on the video to gain context.
It's a nice enough style, and I don't imagine most hardcore Magic players are looking for Play-Doh colour schemes to invade their super serious fantasy love-in, but in the age of streaming and attacks on our attention it does seem like a bit of an oversight?

The two missing from my list are Dangerous Driving and Wilmot's Warehouse. Not surprised by the former but a wee bit surprised the latter didn't sneak in. It seems like a lot of people liked it but maybe just not enough to make their top 10, I'd guess.
I am delighted that 51 other people valued Shenmue III - hopefully, like me, unironically! Nice to see Kind Words sneak in as well as Neo Cab in the pure vote list. Also Outer Wilds and The Outer Worlds almost had the same amount of votes as each other which is perhaps the most fitting thing across these lists.
It sounds like this has been a bit of a tough one for Rorie to compile this year but I'm wondering if it would be possible to get the Top 500 list on a blog like last year? Only if it's not a lot of extra work, of course!
This looks great and I really want to play it but I'm going to wait until the game's story content is reviewed. That first trailer's words echoed narratives used by transphobic and xenophobic politicians (without much in the way of irony). Despite being called out for it, there was no apology or even acknowledgement from the developers if I've recalled correctly.
So we'll see if the man-children behind the trailer wanted attention and were subsequently scared off from going in that direction (or mis-represented the crux of the story), or if the developers are indeed telling a shitty, thinly veiled 'fictional story' underneath it all. Cause if so they can rot in the hell of their own making. Hah, see! Aren't thinly veiled digs the FUNNIEST and SMARTEST and most SURREPTITIOUSly ineffectual?
Anyway, I'll be disappointed if I'm not able to play it but, you know, there are plenty of games not comparing me to a demon so I guess I'll just play them instead...
@rorie Just wanted to note that I'm voting for Astroneer in my list. Even though the site has its early access release dates, it went to 1.0 in early 2019. I presume it's one of those 'edge cases' so just pointing it out in case it gets lost in the shuffle!
