Saying this is the best 3DS game isn't really putting up a stiff competition. It is a great game but we really need to wait for the 3DS library to evolve a little more with something more than mini-game games then we can talk.
I think Edge is merely making a statement like that to gather up some people on their website to chatter. I think we may have a reveal before Q4 2012, but I doubt the next gen will be released until late 2013 to late 2014. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are still making great headway in the market today and to release it so soon would be like shooting yourself in the foot. Nintendo will finally be catching up to the current generation with it's "Next-gen console" so Microsoft and Sony are not really scared seeing as the consoles won't prove much of a battle farther than a couple of first-party exclusives like Mario and Kirby. I cannot wait to see what the next-gen will entail but I highly doubt it will happen until Microsoft and Sony can justify more than an upgrade in graphics. The economy isn't really ready for a new system that doesn't do much more than look prettier so until we see definite movement forward with hardware I doubt we will see much more happening than a couple of new system designs.
Sometimes i pass on a game because of its graphics, generally because I have played many games and when the graphic quality isn't modern (I am not talking WItcher 2, Crysis, or anything like that) then I an expect the gameplay to be no better. However, with demos and torrenting, I do find myself enjoying games I wouldn't have purchased. I guess I should point out indie games get more leeway with me.
I don't like him myself but I believe he has shown his dedication to a site like this and deserves his spot. I just wish him and some other people I will not name would work out, always makes me sad to see people so unhealthy.
