Got the game today. Can confirm Hado mode is awful. The core SFII stuff is pretty good though. The shorter throw of the joy con sticks means it's actually a decent control method.

I picked up an Xbox One S really cheap over Black Friday and have been loving it. If you absolutely must have the best performance, highest res stuff--yeah, this won't be for you. But I'm a big fan of the controller and as someone who never owned a 360 (crazy, I know) I love the backwards compatibility. The controller is my favorite of all the current gen offerings, too. It will be tough to beat.

Great, thanks for the advice everyone especially that nice guide mezza. It's a little bit of a bummer there aren't raids or something more tactical at the higher levels, but I think this will be my podcast game for the next few months because there's a lot I like about it---even if it is a loot-based hamster wheel.

Hi,

I recently beat the Diablo III campaign on XB1 and I'm at a bit of a loss about what to do know. I've tried a Nephalem rift, I've done some bounties, and I got Kunai's Cube. I also created a Season 10 character and played a few levels.

I know that getting better loot is the name of the game, but what's the best way to do that now? Should I focus on bounties, rifts, or my Season 10 character? Is there a good reason to play multi? Is there a PVP mode where I can make use of my better loot instead of just grinding to grind?

P.S. This is my first Diablo game so forgive me if these are dumb questions.

9.

I'm really hyped for Switch's future and hopefully having all Nintendo development on 1 system. There are also plenty of major Xbox/PS4/PC games to keep anyone busy for a lifetime and I really love the long tail on many games nowadays. Though, it means I'm ultimately playing less games even if my engagement level is higher per game. I also feel like retro accessibility is better than ever before, with both official emulation and ports, and new "old" hardware like the Analogue NT becoming available.

FYI...looks like updates are rolling per the GAF thread linked above. Now I just need to decide what to get.

Vampire Savior and Neo Turfmasters

If I can cheat and make that a 6-slot Neo Geo, then also add Garou, Windjammers, Magical Drop III, Metal Slug 3, and Shock Troopers.

At the end of Croft Manor you uncover your mother's tomb, hidden in the bowels of Croft Manor. The rest of the manor is in complete disrepair--trees broken through windows, rain coming down in the foyer, and other signs it hasn't been inhabited for a while--yet this room has 10+ lit torches going when you walk in. This isn't unique to Tomb Raider though. Most games with ruins, caves, tombs, etc. have inconsistent evidence of habitation. However, some designer at Crystal Dynamics obviously thought of this inconsistency, so each of the torches has a gas pipe running up to the sconce.

My first thought was: "Wow, what an amazing detail." My second thought was: "That still makes no sense." Why would this room that has no entrance and is intentionally hidden need to have gas torches going 24/7? Wouldn't the huge gas bill each month raise questions, thereby risking that the room is uncovered? If I were Lara's uncle and wanted to her deemed unfit to manage the Croft estate, I would definitely point to the huge amount of money she spends on gas each month as evidence of her profligacy.

In conclusion, great job on the extra little details but in the bigger picture they still make no sense. Any other examples of stuff like this?

Caveat emptor: I heard the color's off on these Switch releases and looks a little washed out. There's a gaf thread on it for more info.

Hardware impressions after a weekend of Zelda:

-Screen on the unit looks pretty nice in portable mode, didn't blow me away or anything but games will look good

-Detaching and re-attaching joy con and wrist straps is a little too finicky--I'll avoid messing with them whenever possible. Didn't even try the kickstand--looks and feels as cheap as everyone says. The dock kinda sucks too. Really wish it was just open faced and slanted back a bit to hold the system in place. Worrying about lining everything up and avoiding scratches isn't fun.

-Getting used to having the right stick directly under buttons takes a little getting used to; Sideways joy con are bad as a controller--only to be used as a last resort. Otherwise the joy con work well both attached and apart from the unit. They're especially comfy apart from the unit (not using the grip) and I've had no connection issues thus far.

-The Pro Controller is an essential purchase. While I like using the joy con when the system docked, the pro controller is next level. Comfortable, weighty, real dpad, plus it still has all the nfc/gyro functionality. Definitely don't regret dropping $70 for it. I will likely never detach my joy con from the unit again, since I will use the pro controller whenever docked.

-Haven't run up against the battery at all yet...was able to play zelda for 1.5-2 hours without getting any low battery warning or anything.
