What!? I had no idea it was coming out any time soon. Bah, I need to start following a gaming news website in addition to Giant Bomb because I feel like I keep missing things like this.

I never fact checked it, but doesn't the 1TB Xbox have a SSD and load faster?

Yeah, but a good external drive is also faster and probably cheaper per byte too. Unfortunately load times are not dramatically faster like you might see on a PC going HDD > SDD. A 40 second game bootup might get to just under 30 seconds at best.

The first episode is free on the Starz app on Xbox One right now, even if you don't subscribe to Starz, or any cable for that matter. It was pretty great!

There's just not that much exclusive stuff coming out for PS4 that's not also on PC. For better or worse, Xbox has more titles that require you have that particular hardware. I was going to put more titles than Uncharted, but I honestly couldn't think of anything coming out any time soon that requires a PS4.

That's not true, but I think there is clearly a bias from you considering the OP stated he already decided his PS4 is his main system, and you're questioning that decision.

OP's probably making the right choice. I've just been frustrated with Sony's crappy lineup recently :-\

I'd say go for it. You've got maybe Zelda on the way for Wii U and.... nothing else? Xbox is going to have a lot of great games going forward that the PS4 won't, but there is quite a bit of overlap as has been mentioned. Though honestly, if you have a halfway decent computer for indie games, I don't see the point in having a PS4 at all unless you're way into Uncharted.

This is like saying, I don't see the point in having an Xbox One unless you're way into Gears of War. It completely ignores other titles he may be interested in. Besides, if he had a decent computer, he would also be better off without the Xbox One.

So I just got the "New Xbox One Experience", and holy crap the in-game guide is so good. I was getting worried about the new dashboard after hearing bad things on the bombcast and elsewhere, but using it for core functionality has improved so drastically.

When you’re in a game, you double tap the Xbox button, and everything you could possibly want is right there, with no loading between menus, no snapping. It does take like 1 full second for the guide to pop up, but once it does, accounts on the xbox are right there to login/logout, the friends list is there and you can invite people to a party without even having to start a party first, the party list is there to manage, a list of apps is there if you want to snap something for some reason, and you can even go straight to settings from there. And switching between those screens is nearly instantaneous.

It’s so good. I’m so happy with it. That thing completely eliminates the need to go to the dashboard while you’re playing a game. The dashboard itself is pretty meh and seems better in some ways and worse in others, but that in-game menu is amazing. It’s even better than the 360 used to be in terms of how easy it is to get people into your game or join others. I do wish you didn't have to double-tap to use it... it seems like it should just be a single tap, because I think it'll have far more use than returning to the dashboard.

It's weird to not have a facebook account. Facebook is the accepted way to "find" someone you used to know, so without one, it looks like you've completely cut off your past. I'd expect people to have one, even if their page is devoid of all personal information besides the bare minimum for someone they used to know to find them, and they never look at it to see what their friends' cat thought about the democratic debate.
