Games I've Played in 2021

If I played it in 2021, it's on the list.

List items

  • I've been playing multiplayer randomizers with some family and friends, and it's the most fun I've had gaming in some time.

  • Every now and then I sit down and attempt play through all the Mega Man games (thank you, various Legacy Collections). The last time I tried, I got up to X6 and got derailed because of how abjectly terrible this game is.

    I'm there again.

    It's not going much differently.

    (I did eventually beat it.)

    (It still sucks,)

  • This game may have encouraged a slight gender/sexual identity crisis I've been working on? But I still play it. It's that good.

  • Not content with how much of my life this game has consumed already, I started an alt late last year to replay the story mode. Help.

  • I was hoping for a return to form after X6, but this ain't it. There are free-roaming, non-side-scrolling sections in every level and they are uniformly garbage. No camera control. Sometimes foreground objects block your view and you have no way to fix it! Ugh.

  • Saw a Buster-only run of Mega Man 1 at AGDQ and tried to employ some of the strategies I picked up to finally beat the Buster-only boss rush challenge.

    It....uh...didn't go well.

  • Did you see what Shiek Zanzibar did?! That guy's fuckin' crazy!

  • Shit's HARD.

  • One of those games that I've been meaning to play for some time now. It's on Game Pass, so I have no excuse anymore.

  • Played the hell out of the Wii U version. I've only played a little of this plus some of Bowser's Fury. Planning on finishing it.

  • I had never watched the Endurance Run until I decided to dive into it recently. I got to the part just after they rescue Rise and decided I wanted to play the game myself. That was two weeks ago and now I'm almost in October while Vinny and Jeff are still in early August.

It's funny playing Golden and watching them play vanilla. There are so many good QoL changes and extra content.

  • Another recent obsession for the kiddo. I got him past a few of the trickier members of the Order of No Quarter. He beat the last boss himself, though.

  • This was my son's obsession for a few weeks. I helped him beat it.

  • I hear Mario died. RIP Mario.

  • Another evergame for me.

  • I realized that I bought Hitman 2 roughly around when it released, imported my Hitman 1 progress into it, then never played any of the Hitman 2 levels. This has been rectified.

  • I was REAL bored at work one day and figured out that Stadia isn't blocked on our network, so I played the demo of this. I actually really liked it. I can see myself picking it up at a discount some time.

  • I was very disappointed to find that Jeff Gerstmann was 100% correct about this game. It sucks shit.

  • I played the first hour or so over XCloud on my phone to test out the Razer Kishi I bought. I'll definitely come back to this after my Persona obsession settles down.

  • Doing a Four-Jobs-only run. Blue Mage and Time Mage so far. Haste, Regen, and Goblin Punch are staples.

  • Walked, jumped, whipped, got fucked up by fleamen. The average Castlevania experience.

  • Downloaded the free Nintendo Switch Online trial. I was not as into this as I thought I might be. I think I might have miscalibrated it, because I couldn't hit some of the timing AT ALL. Also, mixing the vocals of Jolene with the guitar from Killing In The Name loses its novelty pretty quick.

  • Love to punch the shit out of things with the Rush Power Adapter.

  • Gravity Man's stage is one of the coolest in Mega Man history.

  • The Wire and Balloon are totally underrated in the grand pantheon of Mega Man powers.

  • Y'know, if Dr. Light and Dr. Wily just hung out in Top Man's stage for a while I think they might be able to come to a peaceful resolution.

  • Metal Blade is OP.

  • More comfort gaming. I should time some of my Mega Man runs one of these days, maybe hit the speedrun leaderboards somewhere in the 300s.

  • Checking in on early access very infrequently. I kind of want it to be as fresh as possible when it hits full release.

  • My between-game palate cleanser of choice. Completed the Dark Brotherhood storyline this time around.

  • Played a few hours of this but fell off when Mass Effect Legendary Edition came out. I'll probably go back to it after finishing P3. I hate the menus. P3 and P4 have such clean, well-organized menus, these are so all over the place that it BOTHERS me.

  • I wish there was an easier way to play this than a PS2 emulator. Put every game on Switch plz. Not very far in, but I can see it might be kind of slow going, given that I played P4G first. Not a fan of not being able to give direct commands to everyone in my party.

  • I still don't feel as burned by the ending as a lot of people. I played it pre Extended Cut too, and felt mostly satisfied. Fight me.

  • I read accounts of other people playing this game and NOT doing some of the loyalty missions, and I just cannot fathom it. Even without knowledge of what happens if you don't do them, it's just.......do you hate fun?

  • Legendary Edition. Paragon FemShep romancing Liara, a.k.a. the correct way to play.
